I have an f1R procharger on a 540 big block chevy.I am using air to air intercooler 31 x 12 x4, 3 inch inner and outer inlets. Its not working. No leaks. Any suggestions?
for your combo, i'd suggest a set of 185 heads with a YS/YSI type blower...CSU or a C&S carb with a hat. should run deep into the 9's with a good chassis (would go 8's with a full blown motor in a pro-style roller). all about dollars per hour dude....
Hey Darkside.... I was running a Procharger F1R blower at the time. running 15 lbs. of boost. I ordered a C &S billet aerosol carb based on my combo. (750 baseplate flowed at 815) 8.5 comp. due to an "ill-matched" cam it held the car back. I coulda tinkered with it and run much, MUCH better, I sold the old induction combo for a twin turbo setup... now running in a 2001 Mustang Bullitt. not fully together yet but will be soon. sorrry I cant give you more info. (still building)
Hey man, awsome setup, i have a mustang too with a beautiful and tough 306 that i built, (over 400 HP), i have the same carb on mine 4150 HP Holly 600 CFM, and i really like ur setup! Can u please tell me everything that i need to do to run the same setup? i know u gotta do some mods to the carb n stuff. Also, what kind of charger is it, how much boost? Cheapbikes, the item you're inquiring about is called an Extreme Velocity carb hat. cost about 200 bux (polished) and has an O ring seal to the carb. it has a nice and smooth transition of airflow into the carb, and is available in a divided or undivided version. do some searching and find the version that suits you're needs.
How do you like running the nitrous with the supercharger? Also what kind of adjustments do you have to make with the timing running nitrous with the supercharger? Do you retard advance or just leave it alone and how much of a shot? Im thinking about running nitrous with my procharger for the intercooler effect!
hate to disappoint, but i have not run the nitrous with the blower, so I can't answer. the plate setup was put on for a "just in case" shot if things weren't going my way at the big end. (kind of a hail mary last resort if the other guy had a car on me in the last few feet) never needed it with the mighty F1R....

powerglide is for reliability. Plus the car used to see very limited street use. As the car is being returned to street duty a viper-spec T-56 will probably find it"s way in there. But a glide in a lightweight high power car almost always makes sense for strength and simpicity.
