@joeghebert Those are bits of tire. They are called marbles. They accumulate off-line as they a torn off the tire as the car corners hard. Sometimes they can get quite big, the size of your fist, when they ball up in wheel wells. The marbles in Shift 2 seem to be too large, probably so you notice them more easily.
