  • King always has a great way to explain Satanism. His wife Livia is a Satanist as well. They are both great Satanic people

  • ...its not Merciful..its MercYful..xD

  • amazing, thanks for upload that!

  • Definitely not '81. Change the title so more aren't suckered in to watching this.

  • Hey guys, I apologize for the misinformation, The inlay card for the CD says 1981. after listening... you guys are definitely right probably 88-89. I honestly was not trying to "sucker" anyone. Thanks for watching/listening to my videos : )

  • He is speaking of his new Album "THEM" So this clip would have to be from 1988 . not 1981

  • No, this is an interview with King Diamond in most probably 1988 right before THEM is released. If you listen to the interview from 1:20 til the end, King talks about not using words like Lucifer and Satan anymore, which he doesn't in King Diamond. So this is definitely around 87-88. And that THEM is focused on the powers of the unknown.

Not sure why it says that this is an interview from 1981, cause it is not.

  • Yea, whatever, this is a load of it. This guy is straight up lying! He claims not to try and convert anyone, but read his lyrics to the song: "The Oath" -- the whole song is about denying Christ. If that isn't trying to convert someone, then Obama was actually born in Hawaii, hahahaha

  • If "The Oath" were about conversion of others to Satanism (as it were)...he would've directed the lyrics toward the listeners...but he uses the pronoun "I" rather than "you." "The Oath" represents HIS own feelings and whatever loyalty to the same. If others listening to that song (or others) decide to go the same route, that's on them...they made that decision for themselves.

I mean...people could just as easily walk out of any church mid-service for any reason...right?

  • Denying something isn`t the same as being a missonarie. Is that so hard to understand?

  • milkbone: The lyrics are lifted straight from the Satanic Bible. They weren't his words. Take a breath and stop listening to metal if the dark scares you.

  • I don't fear the dark side... and I listen to a ton of metal -- some examples- Stryper, Whitecross, SAINT, Holy Soldier, Novella, Sacred Warrior, Leviticus, Barren Cross, Bloodgood, Spoken, Daniel Band, Dead Poetic, Disciple, Haven, SHOUT, Narnia, X-Sinner. And true, anyone can walk out of a church service, and true that denying something is not being a missionary, but he's singing for his religion...who doesn't sing for their religion and not hope to influence someone?

  • these are all christian bands, aren't they? personally, I have no problems with that at all, it's just that I sometimes get the feeling that people listen to christian metal just as a substitute for other metal and because they don't want to be exposed to "evil" lyrics (because apparently their fate is so weak it could be destroyed by any artist singing about satan ;-) ) and that christian bands only imitate the other bands to provide a "safer" alternative, rather than making original music.

  • You don't seem to understand the concept of "free interpretation". You can listen to a song, or read a book (like the Bible), or do whatever with any form of art and take away whatever you'd like to interpret from said art. Even if King was trying to "preach" to you, you wouldn't have to listen to it that way. He says it himself in another interview, "You don't have to take it as religious. You could just listen to our music like horror stories, or whatever".

  • king diamond is more sincere than any other "metal gods"

that's probably why he never rose to the heights of other

    "metal gods"

this stuff was never a just a look for him that's why people get turned off

  • Metal people are awesome - they're alwayz honest with people.

  • Yes, must have been around 87-88. Most probably 1988.
