Such memories... we took a flight on this in March, 2000 and the trip over to Calais was terrible due to high waves in the Channel, which made for a very, very rough ride. But the trip back was wonderful and smooth. Glad I got to do this once before they closed.
Because it was too expensive to run, and too difficult to obtain parts as BHC closed their doors many years before. That is why Hoverspeed decided to replace hovercraft with SeaCat catamarans.
Hoverspeed also cease to exsist in November 2005 and as a result, the fleet was sold to different companies.
It was a great deal of a shame to axe world's only car ferry hovercraft.
