  • cassie is based off a true story look it up

  • they're pretty good :) and i do have to say you made a pretty damn good video

  • I love this song, I can listen to it over and over again.

  • her voice is like heaven

  • This song is about the columbine shooting....

  • She has an awesome voice and the drums and guitars are fucking GREAT!

  • funny my names Cassie

  • @LoveMe1400ily that's scary...you better not kill anyone

  • @shiorihitsugaya Cassie, the girl that this song is about. She wasn't the killer, she was killed.

  • omgg i heard this girls singing this song what does this mean what is the story behind this song i dont realy like listening tothis music im getting creep nevamind byeee

  • Cassie René Bernall

Initial reports suggested that one of the assailants, either Eric Harris or Dylan Klebold, asked Bernall if she believed in God moments before fatally shooting her. She was reported to have answered "Yes, I believe". This story led to Bernall being presented as a martyr by some Christians, and served as the inspiration for several songs, including Michael W. Smith's "This Is Your Time" and Flyleaf's "Cassie."

  • Can someone please tell me the story behind this song? I really do enjoy this band and their meaningful songs. So I would like to know the meaning of this song.

  • @celestev03 It's about the girl who got shot at Columbine.

  • @celestev03 see my comment above

  • Rest easy Cassie Bernell RIP

  • Everyday the majority of "Christians" in the world condemn non-believers and say that they will burn and suffer eternally for not believing. This girl was shot and killed for her belief in God, but most "Christians" judge atheists and those of other religions in a similar way. Condemning THEM to a fate worse than just death. My God rules with love. Not fear. "Christians" have become one of the most judgmental groups of people in the world. It breaks my heart to see people corrupting our purpose.

  • @CaybizzleG Yeah, I agree. Besides, they'd of shot her no matter what she said.

  • @CaybizzleG Well said, another thing is "Christian" extremists is how I would call them people who go to far in getting people to believe. It's their choice it says that clearly in the bible, don't force your belief on someone. Yes people dye for being a true Christian or a true lover of Jesus a believer. But we should NOT do the same. We are called to love not hate. Getting people to trust in God is their choice, you can tell them about it yes but the rest is between them and God.

  • @CaybizzleG I deeply agree with you. Some christians are very cruel to non-believers but there are more christians being killed and bullied each day. In china and africa thousands of people are killed because they choose to believe in God.

  • Comment removed

  • @CaybizzleG they're hardly in the majority. extreamists just get more facetime than everyone else

  • I LOVE MY LORD AND SAVIOR AND PEOPLE PLEASE JUST KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND KEEP TO YOURSELF .....!!! GOD IS THEEEEEEE ONE WHO CAN AND WILL FILL IN ANY EMPTY FEELINGS IN YOUR HEART.......! AND FILL THEM WITH SOMETHING BETTER......FOR OUR LIFE'S........! so please believe in him and on his WORD......!

  • the story is true don't even start an arguement you retards who think its not true. i know the story too. i looked it up and the story is: at the singer's (forgot her name) school there was this girl named cassie and this guy came in the school with a gun and asked her if she believed in god and she said yes so she was killed by him.

  • @BORDED1 Um, story is about columbine hun. And 3 witnesses confirm that cassie wasn't asked anything about god, she was just shot. You clearly didn't look it up.

  • @ckaleader i did look it up and the guy who shot her asked her if she believed in god. i also asked to not start an argument with me

  • @BORDED1 That's nothing more than a popular myth. The people who were actually there at columbine and saw cassie get shot say that she was never asked anything.

  • @ckaleader ok well after reading the second top comment i guess you might be right

  • @ckaleader @BORDED1I looked it up and i'm not believe or disbelieving Honestly if you're in this kind of situation, you're going to worry about yourself. Maybe She was asked but no one heard? I mean who knows. Even though the witness's said "nothing happened" I wouldnt take that in account considering that they would be overwhelmed No point in arguing the issue is these people died and you guys are fighting about this! There was a shooting at my school in the courtyard where I was but didnt see.

  • @ckaleader @BORDED1 and I know :P My paragraph is pretty fucked up right there. R.I.P everyone lost in School shootings and by bullying

  • @miyulovespoprocks If no one heard it, how would anyone know what she said?

  • @ckaleader I'm saying maybe they asked "more people" then what others thought. but still it's pretty childish to "argue" about the matter.

  • @ckaleader also like I said people are going to worry about themselves more than they are others. I read "She said Yes" and it's really just about her life and all the struggles she went through until the shooting.

  • Why do you seem to have problems with everyone's comments? They are just comments after all. lol

  • Fake story.

  • @Bloodtoxx true story.

  • @flydarkangel95 Look into it. The prase was never said.

  • poor Cassie :'(

  • epic!!!

  • And I love the video dude!!!!

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!

  • Vocals are a little awkward. Yet. A good song. And ya. I see what you mean about the chills. lol

  • The story behind the song makes it 10 times better.

  • Did you you know that flyleaf is not actually a christian band

  • @ashniteflame but they are, so did you know you're wrong.

  • Please, people. Stop arguing about the story behind the song and agree that it's awsome....

  • i'm in a psychotic crysis... this really helps me... all i want is this pain finish!!!

  • i like

  • That was very noble of Cassie.

  • @Musicture seriously? the kid was more affraid of god than a freakin gun... you do realise that this wouldn't have happened if there was no religion right?

  • im a christian and i got baptized and everything, so i feel bad 4 Cassie. poor girl

  • @TheKittylover102 im an atheist i was baptized but reject the idea of a god and i still feel bad for her...it's horrible somebody would be killed over something like that...

  • i love this song!!!would ssooo die 4 myh church.....

  • Comment removed

  • 104 peopleare most cetenly ot Christian, and will go down below someday.

  • @supergirl200005652 Not being christian has nothing to do with it i am an atheist and love this song along with all others by flyleaf so don't go saying things like that. It's similar thoughts that made that shooting do down in the first place.

  • Casie wasn't the peson who did the Do you Belive in God thing that was another studn't Casie was told Peek a Boo, and was shot in the head. Erik was sort of sucsessful in his plan to kill, people, and himself, but really how sucsessful is he is he died in the end any way. Despite the missconception I love this song, and it is beautiful.

  • @supergirl200005652 actually their plan was a lot less successful than they had planned; they put two 20lb propane bombs in the cafeteria that were set to detonate when the calculated that there would be the most students but because of a loose wire they failed to go off so instead they were only able to kill 13 and injure 24 instead of 700+

  • so intense, but still awesome! :D

  • A CHIER.

  • @59000franck a chier? wow magnifique argument t'en as d'autre comme ca?

  • This song is sad. I BELIEVE IN GOD :D

  • fucking love this song!!!

  • ok i dont get why i have to bo christan to like this song, and i dont get why everybody is getting all pissy in the comments. im peggan/wiccan, and if somebody asked me the same question, i would say a protection prare for them and then say hell yes.

  • Can you like upload the original one?

    I would really appreciate it....

  • I love the video (: and the song! Love how you put the lyrics on the actual music video (:

  • OMG! i would say yes. it is amazing that she said yes! sad... i cried. but really i would say yes. this really happened in a high school :'(

  • i just listen to this band bc i like there music not bc there a christan band they just make good music!!! not everything has 2b about religion!!!

    :0

  • I have an idea, it's a song! Either like it or dont and move on!

  • great sing...love the video u put together!!! i totally agree with what u said!!! this is a CRISTIAN song and band, so if ur gonna cuss on it, and ur a Christian, how does that make God feel?! yaa, okkay, rethink ur statements b4 postong them!

  • @BeautifulEmo77 The bible doesn't say you shouldn't cuss, asswipe.

  • What it does say is that "...you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.” Matt 15:11

  • The acoustic version of this song is less about Cassie but about all martyrs, all those who sacrificed their lives for what they believed in - not in words but in actions. It's true that Cassie wasn't asked whether she believed in God when she was shot (Lacey wrote this song when she was younger, before she knew what really happened), but others have sacrificed their lives for their beliefs...and that's what matters: Inspired in their footsteps we will march ahead.

  • @xGlassChild I like the song, i like the band. I'm sorry if this is offensive, but i DON'T like this video. Too many pop up bubbles obscuring the view... The story of this song is very sad. I appreciate that xGlassChild is trying to keep people from arguing and trying to give facts, but enough is enough. The video is what we want to see. I don't want to read while watching. I would rather read all these comments in the end credits

  • I can't know for sure whether Cassie or Valeen or whoever was the one who said they believed in God. It could have been Cassie, who was killed. It could have been Valeen. There were witnesses, but I can't trust them 100%. I can't KNOW what went down in that library with .01% doubt. However, I DO know that people are murdered every single day for saying YES to Jesus. Let this song be also a testimony for them.

  • @Downageful no, you don't show it in public, and you don't like it if someone just shoves it down your throat, okay, maybe if you're a girl or gay, but generally saying, no :P

  • @supermegabar

umm, sorry too you but there wasnt any peekaboo involved at all ?

i mean there a book that cassies mom wrote herself about the whole thing called "she said yes"

2 boys walked around there school asking people if they belived if the person said yes, they shot them.. and she never said she believed because of her parents either..?

why dont you just read the book instead of tellin all these people this crap about a boy saying peekaboo and shooting her..

i mean come on now ?

  • @SuperMegabar actually i've read that there are a few different stories. one was lioke u said one was the Cassie was asked if she beleived in God ond another is that Rachel was asked if she Beleived in god. the students were just to freaked to remember what happened exactly so we may never know what the truth is.

  • this a great song and my parents dont care at all if i cuse and im 13 and they havnt cared if i cus since i was 11... but still i love this song

  • Flyleaf is my favorite band and I am a baptist and my past can not stand this music. Especially since it has more of a rock type sound to it but I love it just the same. so you did really good on this video. love you for making it.

  • kay so i heard about this like a year ago when my youth leader did a hole lesson on Cassie. he told us about this song and i loove flyleaf so i went home and listened to it and i gotta say almost everytime i here this song even to this day i still get chills and almost start to cry. it's soo powerful and moving. God is good

  • religion is like a penis - i have nothing more to say.

  • thank you for this the dude that upoaded it

  • best song :D hi5!!! :D

  • Haha. My sisters name is Cassie. I love her<3

  • I heard what the song's story was. I was shocked.

  • GOD LIVES! I WOULD PULL THE TRIGGER!

  • they cornered her in a library and asked her if she beleived in god she said yes they shot her in the face she died instantly :(

  • o_o My Name Is Cassidy And My Friends Call Me Cassie o_o

  • Comment removed

  • i luv da lyrics flyleaf is a awesum band :D

  • I don't think people get what this song is based on, In the columbia high massacre in 1999, This girl cassie couldn't hide, The library was too full, All she could do was sit in the corner and cry and pray, The two shooters went up to her, and asked "Do you Believe in God", She answered "Yes" and they shot her in the face, Killing her instantly.... It's not funny to joke about this.... It's dedicated to Cassie, Leave it at that, Not your opinion... R.I.P

  • @QsTxPR3D4T0R they actualy killed her friend instantly then they asked her she said yes they shot her she lived they asked again she still said yes then they killed her

  • @FURIOUSFRANKY Sorry to piss on your parade guys but Cassie was mindlessly shot... She wasn't asked if she believed in god.. Some other girl was and she said "Well.. Yeah but No i mean.. i just do because of my parents" and they laughed at her and walked away.. Then they walked up to Cassie and just shouted "PEEKABOO" and shot her... Sad i know but that's the facts...

  • @SuperMegabar Well wether or not, the song is based around a girl being shot because she admitted her believe of god. The true story doesn't matter, its about the song and it's story (true are not).

  • @NyxRedvines I know i'm just letting people know... It's still a sad story and i find it even sadder that some people have exploited it (i'm not saying this band have). Her mother really sickens me the way she's released several of her books that if you read, mostly have nothing about her in them! It's sad that she died she seemed like a nice girl...

  • @SuperMegabar No one knows what really, truly happened. It's whichever of the several stories you want to believe.

  • @MrKyel17 Well... 7 witnesses say that the guy just said PEEKABOO to her and shot her... Only 1 girl said that they asked her if she believed in god and she's said she may have been mistaken so i think i know which story i would believe... It's still sad the way she died, i just hate it when people use it to back up their argument.

  • @SuperMegabar rachel scott was the one but she was shot a diffrent time at colimbine school

  • @SuperMegabar Actually, This song is about Cassie Bernall, a student at Columbine High School who was killed in the massacre that occurred there. It was reported that her killer asked her if she believed in God, and when she answered "Yes" he asked her why, and not giving her a chance to reply, killed her with a single gunshot to the head. They didn't shout "peeakaboo" and just shoot her. they shot her because she said yes. So, I guess you DON'T know the facts.

  • @DancingInMyTrousers yea your right and also cassie was there friend so they asked her to see if she still did and when she said yes they asked why and shot her and so on so fourth......

  • @DancingInMyTrousers ... Actually. That is an urban myth. 1 person said that happened then withdrew their statement. 7 other people reported what i just said. Perhaps you should get YOUR fact's right...

  • @SuperMegabar Ya ok you dont know everything. Were you there? No probably not. So unless you were there and saw EXACTLY what happened, don't say anything at all. All she is saying is that if she was asked if she belived in God, while at gun point, she would say yes. You don't like that then oh well.

  • @themusiclover0223 What the fuck is your problem?? I was just stating facts...

  • @SuperMegabar Where did you get that information from?

  • @SDuSmith I remember reading about it. But i'm sure a simple Google search will bring up the same stuff...

  • @SuperMegabar Wiki says this story may be true. You are right, one eyewitness told the "PEEKABOO" story, but she misidentified the shooter, so her eyewitness account doesn't hold much credibility.

I fail to see why people are debating this. Thousands and thousands of people have died for Christianity (and other religions).

  • @SuperMegabar Somehow I doubt this.

  • @SuperMegabar err...i`m not gonna believe that because wiki is not written and i repeat NOT written by professionals so for all you know it could be someone who hates Christianity who wrote that now i hate to piss on YOUR parade

  • @SuperMittenman I didn't get it from Wikipedia smart ass.

  • @SuperMegabar lol wow someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed :3. I'm still not changing my mind about this because it could have been made up by someone who hated Cassie. Duh you gotta think about these things.

  • @SuperMittenman What the hell? Look i'm not talking to someone who has obviously not done their homework now good day!

  • Don't over think sh*t, just enjoy the music. Everywhere on yt I see everyone fighting over song subject matter. Just enjoy the f*cking music!

  • i love this song n f any one does talk crap thats just jaced up

  • this song is fucking amazing love it with a passion

  • I love this song...but it scares me, because my name is Cassie, so it feels like she's singing to me. And after I learned the meaning behind the song I was like "Oh great, now I'm even more scared" still, great song

  • @djstube64 lmao really.

  • @boyslipnkot666 i hate tht shooter hopefully he goes to hell and then somewhere else

  • this song is awesome nice vid man

  • everyone calls me cassie.......gah....great song though.

  • cassie in wiki.... its true but its columbine not melbourne

  • I cant believe one of the top rated comments isnt even true! There is no such thing as the 'Melbourne high school shooting' wtf??

  • sorry yall i killed the replay button cus i pressed her so many times

  • but she changed my life forever, one day I will see her and look her in the face and tell her just how much she as taught me with faith and just one word, Shes an angel and will help all who allows RIP Cassie :)

  • Its so very sad that them kids at that school had all those problems and where bullied and made fun of like they were to wanna hurt someone. I know what its like to live like they do. they called me names and wanted to fight me, they called me the junk yard troll my senior year. The only difference between me and them is that I believe and I wish I was there to reach out to them like God reached out to me. If I would have cassie would still be there I never met her never seen her face

  • i miss cassie so much we went to school together for two years then she moved

  • the girl tht sing this song is so tiny hehehe

  • God.Stop arguing, enjoy the music, enjoy the lyrics, enjoy the message they want to pass, enjoy the magic.Stop being such Morons.

And..I will compliment your video skills cause your sarcastic comment got me laughing ;p

  • @booboobearlova the DUDES not dude who shot her and the other killed himself afterwards

  • @booboobearlova Way to not make any sense whatsoever

  • I won't pull the trigger cuz i wanna live my life, an then i wanna die old, with money, kids, etc and afther that, i'll listen to the song, and i will shot myself tot see God and to ask Him 'Tf is with this bonebreaker song?

  • omg i love dis song

  • omg i love dis song

  • @bigdrocks55 god is not gay! quit being a stupid stuck up idiot who doesn't know his head from his ass!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!' :D

  • to this day nobody knows if the story is true or not

  • @thisphotoisproof the story is true. it was all over the news. and there is a book about it.

  • @heywazzup28

yeah but people who were actually there and that had to testify in court as to exactly what they saw and heard have same that they were never asked if they believed in god. Im not trying to say its a lie, but at the time nobody knew for sure but today its pretty much known that it probably didnt happen.

  • Again, whether the story is true or not you people are missing ths abg ie point! This song is about whether or not you would die for God...thats it. No one can say for sure what happened unless you were there! So have some respect for those martyrs who do die for God every single day! And by the way the singer's name is Lacey. Amy is the lead singer for Evanescence.

  • Would you pull the trigger for god?

  • @fredlover6789 and i pulled the trigger..

  • @G3lovely This account will be deleted because of Death of user. She pulled the trigger.

  • @fredlover6789 No. :D

  • is there any real Official Music Video for this song????

  • it bugs me that you have to have all those bubbles keep popping up. it's quite annoying. people are going to comment nasty things on ANY video, cause this is YOUTUBE. it's not gonna hrt anyone. we ALL have our opinions. i love this songg, and have GREAT respect for the woman who lost their lives and the song itself

  • if you've ever been to the memorial, its BEAUTIFUL. i think of this song whenever i think of the shootings. HORRIBLE time in this world, but it made us all stronger. please try to have some respect for the victims.

  • This song reminds me of The Cube * (the movie)

  • its creepy knowing what it is about, it knida reminds me of Carrie, but its still a good song.:)

  • @bigdrocks55 actually Val said yes, then no, then I don't know. Then Dylan asked her why and she said because her parents believed and so she did too.

  • OKAY OMG. This myth was squashed years ago. It was VAL who was asked if she believed in God, not Cassie. And it was Dylan who asked her - then nodded and left! The only thing said to Cassie before her death was "Peek-a-boo" by Eric.

  • I have respect for your ability to make different clips from different videos fit with the song. One thing I would suggest is to make sure she has the same hair color in all the clips, otherwise it throws off the illusion.

  • great video n lyrik5.....

  • i love it personally n i think u are a beautifl and talented singer wub ya amy

  • @2KyLePeRRY2 Her name definitely isn't Amy....

  • @2KyLePeRRY2 Definitely not Amy :(

  • i'll pull the trigger... thumbs up if you're with me...

  • I Would Die, Because lets see, a few years on earth and Hell, or no more or eternity in heaven, THAT'S a tough one

  • i'm a God-fearing Jew, pull the trigger!

  • Yes i believe in god...pull the trigger </3

  • this isnt the official music vid..o:

  • @JennyJealousiee i know right? they've just taken random scenes from other flyleaf video's to look like an actual video :L :(
