For those of you who want to know how you can create this version of this song...it's fairly simple. The song is by bill withers (lovely day) and the looped base line is from faith evan's "all night long" (first 10 seconds) produced by puff daddy. Find a dj or a computer software program such as virtual dj and you can get the same exact track from the gap commercial of you mix both tracks together.

Nope. This came out in the spring of 1999. I remember exactly where I was when this ad came out. If you Google "gap khaki soul 1999 entertainment weekly" you'll see that they did a review of the commercial on May 28, 1999.

There was a remake that hit the Top 40 and was on the Bodyguard soundtrack... It's by S.O.U.L S.Y.S.T.E.M and features a woman singing, but I'm positive the music in the ad was remixed only for the ad and wasn't recorded by anyone as a song.

Based on what is written by daninnj above, this was a one time deal done by SOULSYSTEM for GAP but I would call up GAP and ask their marketing department if you can purchase the music...worth a try.

Actually Delisle4, I didn't mean SOUL SYSTEM created this version of the song, I meant they made their own version a few years before this ad appeared.

This version used in this GAP ad is probably by some unknown produced just for this ad.
