i dont rekon real players will be the ones being put in jail... prob just some of the npc's in the story you can influence... or if it IS the players you can send down i bet its just a jail cut scene that lasts seconds and gives you a fine at the end.

There is a chance a single guild to control several towns.

Hopefully, if it fails, EME will be big enough to admit the mistake and remove it.

Man! I can't wait for this game to come out. Finally they made a player controlled political system, though hopefully players don't become dicks and abuse taxes n stuff and jail innocent (Though deserved to $ beggars) people. I love the system, the graphics, definitely the combat set up and how you can have like 360 controllers with it, thought I'm a key board and mouse guy, but I guess a trigger attack would fell cool and the vibration on the controller for being hit by someone would be cool.
While this game looks incredibly promising and I really CAN'T WAIT to get to try it out, I'm skeptical. While I wasn't terribly excited about Aion to where I sat there waiting for it to come out like some people did, I find myself doing that with Tera. This game looks astounding. The action-style gameplay and some of the added features like the political system descirbed in this video is more than I could ask for. I still want to see this released before I go to sea for the Navy.

I heard this game has a less than steller release in Korea. Why? Because it was rushed out by their korean developers. The Political System wasn't there, there was no end game content, and basically there were no features in the korean initial release. Even professions were amazing empty.
However, I hear that the reason enmasse have held back on release in the US was to guarantee that all the promised features are there, finished, and polished at release. Much like how Rift was released.
Is it a massive grindfest like all other asian MMO's, is the only question I have that matters. If it isn't, it'll succeed, if it is... well, Aion says hi.

@ShadowPyke I've been playing on the Korean servers from Australia through a friend's account and compared notes with him. The game is certainly playable, but the higher ping creates a noticeable delay between what you're seeing and what is actually occurring. Also looks like there is more of a delay between consecutive attacks with a higher ping, so the closer you are to the servers, the higher your dps. Unless we get a server (which we wont), we can pretty much forget about competitive PvP.
heh I would love to see these Veruca Salt gamers back when there was no internet and games weren't released like madden games *cough*MW*cough* and it was years from announcement to release IF you were lucky enough to get a release date usually followed by a few delays. I'd rather they take their time instead of releasing yet ANOTHER unfinished buggy not very well thought out MMO that dies after the free month.

I think you missed the part were you can get elected by popular vote. Its far harder to get elected by PvP, since you would need to play 24/7. If a person gets over 50% of the areas votes, no amount of PvP can top that.
Remember though like he says in the video, for the person in office to keep their seat, they'll need the support of the people and I think for that fact alone we won't have to worry as much about political griefing but meh we'll see how it unfolds.

yeah, tera looks very good, the idea of political system is very good, but they talk like people who play the game are normal. at least 50% of them are haters and will definitely not vote for the guy, who has more money then them...

How about a fucking release date? No one gives a shit about anything other than the combat system. The fucking political system doesn't mean shit to anyone; the only reason people will play it is because it doesn't use point and click combat.
You'd better hurry up and release before Dragon's Nest and RaiderZ release with the same type of combat. BOTH of which are F2P.

While its true i will most likely not run for Vanarc (sp?) it is still an interesting system implemented in to the game. i mean if some one becomes leader of a area and you find that they are not right for the job or they are a douche bag, then you can try and kick them out.

Political system... not really new considering korean grindfests like Knight Online have had elections and tax systems for years.
My friend has played the Korean version for awhile now. He says it's kind of a grind. So if that doesn't change by NA/EU launch, it will fail. Plenty of MMO's have the active combat system... just not implemented very well. I hope TERA actually does it right. However, 2 months after TERA launches, SWTOR comes out, then in December, GW2 beta starts. We'll see.

@ShadowPyke I've been playing on the Korean servers from Australia through a friend's account and compared notes with him. The game is certainly playable, but the higher ping creates a noticeable delay between what you're seeing and what is actually occurring. Also looks like there is more of a delay between consecutive attacks with a higher ping, so the closer you are to the servers, the higher your dps. Unless we get a server (which we wont), we can pretty much forget about competitive PvP.

heh I would love to see these Veruca Salt gamers back when there was no internet and games weren't released like madden games *cough*MW*cough* and it was years from announcement to release IF you were lucky enough to get a release date usually followed by a few delays. I'd rather they take their time instead of releasing yet ANOTHER unfinished buggy not very well thought out MMO that dies after the free month.

I think you missed the part were you can get elected by popular vote. Its far harder to get elected by PvP, since you would need to play 24/7. If a person gets over 50% of the areas votes, no amount of PvP can top that.
