I saw this open At Alpine in 2007 and I have to say its literally the craziest feeling ever. I can't decide if this is a better opener then Best of Whats around though . =)
I was at the Busch Stadium concert on 06/07/08 when they used the same intro and it was awesome... what made it even better is that Carter was wearing a Cardinals jersey and the place went that much crazier as a result. I've only seen DMB live three times in 10 years but I've sorta made a pact with myself that I'm going to see them at least once a year from now on. All the live CD's in the world don't do them justice; you have to be there.
carter was wearing a pens jersey that night because the stanley cup finals were on. i think it was game 3 or 4. needless to say the place went crazy and there was a 'lets go pens' chant between the songs.
and right before they came out i turned to my friend and said "if they play two step i might pee myself"...i've been waiting 3 years to hear this live!
DMB has to have new kicks and changes to what they are doing, some things will never change, but even Dave knows that change is good and needed, I think their summer tour is going to be awesome. plus I have tickets to four of their shows and am excited as hell to see them!
The band went through some changes. They had to say 'goodbye' to their friend Butch who plays keyboards AND they were suppose to be working with several big names but it appears like someone(s) didn't fulfill their promises. So the Band plays on putting on awesome shows despite the 'setbacks'. They're greattttt man!
All you that are saying that Dave sold out are total douchebags.... the guy makes more money now, so he can put on better shows... you think he wanted to sit his ass on a bar stool and sing to a college bar crowd all his life? WOULD YOU???
Anyhow, I was at this show, and it was kick ass... as kick ass as any live show could be!

Does anyone else think Dave is acting a little weird this tour? First of all, he has ended concerts with a song titled "Thank You", then he puts his guitar down and just acts like a fool (don't know if he's drunk or what), and then with this intro. DMB is the type of band that just walks out and performs. No pyros, no surprises, he just walks onto the stage and perfroms. I don't know, something in me is telling me the end is near. He does have new kids and may want to spend time with them.

The only thing Dave sold out on is sold out concerts from coast to coast. Cannot wait for 2 sold out SPAC shows tomorrow and Saturday.

DONT SAY THAT!! I LOVE DAVE.
HE LIVES ON FOREVERRRR.
Ahaha, seriously though.
If he retires or something, I'm going to be pissed.
chasingthemoon 3 years ago
I know, me too. But it'll probably be a break if anything. Mick Jagger's like 60 and he's still performing. I just think he's acting weird this tour.
HesterMVP 3 years ago
I'm not too worried. Dave'll play till he dies.
Or so I'd like to believe :] And don't you ruin it for me with your thoughts. Hah.

Oh great. They have resorted to stage antics now....Cant wait to see the back up dancers!
crxin2000 3 years ago
i concur, i remember when they would just walk up on stage and play just like other [jam bands] do.

Quit raining on the parade... I was at Busch Stadium Saturday night and they opened the same way (also with Two Step) and I thought it was great.
