It's MUCH easier to cut the top of the cake off if you take it out of the mold (bend the silicone to do so rather than dumping it like you would with normal cake pans, there'll be less crumbling).

its always best to freeze your cake before cutting it so that you can get a good solid cut, not sure if youve already said that at any point. that or i always flip my cake over while still warm and the weight of the bottom tends to flatten the top.

@GreenDotDress I usually buy the super moist betty crocker, but the pilsbury is on sale. If you want moist you can add to the batter a little melted butter. Maybe a tablespoon or so. It would help.
