the english word rapture in itself is not in the bible. the bible in 1 Thess 4:17 talks about the church being taken up or caught up in the clouds. When the catholic church translated it into latin the word for taken up or caught up in the clouds was raptus. It was William Shakespeare who coined the english phrase rapture which was taken from the latin word raptus which means to be taken up or caught up in the clouds.

The English (KJV) Bible uses the word gathering (to Jesus) for the event usually referred to as the rapture. 2 Thess 2:1. And you mentioned "caught up". That's 1 Thess 4:17. the english word rapture in itself is not in the bible. the bible in 1 Thess 4:17 talks about the church being taken up or caught up in the clouds. When the catholic church translated it into latin the word for taken up or caught up in the clouds was raptus. It was William Shakespeare who coined the english phrase rapture which was taken from the latin word raptus which means to be taken up or caught up in the clouds.

For those that missed my comments earlier. There is no rapture before the tribulation. The true Saints are caught up to meet Christ at his coming. The dead will rise first (be resurrected) and then those that are alive will be caught up to meet Christ. 1 Thes 4:16-17

I like Jack. He is a good brother and well versed. Sometimes though i think he is just stretching ideas to often over the years. While it may be a good hearted attempt at bringing people to the Lord, I try personally not to look so closely at everything trying to exactly depict the future.

@tisdue the "great depression" started in 1929. The Fed was established in 1913 under Wilson's Presidency i believe. This man, along with FDR were the most liberal, and progressive Presidents we have had. Yes the Fed, however, does cause all of our economic problems, you are correct. @JCmattandcarlab I have been watching JVI ministries since I was a teen, I am now 41. He definitely knows his scripture a true prophet God. I think he does not want to offend faithful Catholics. But, in many of his shows when he discusses the Pope, Jack DOES say that according to the prophecies of Saint Malachi, The last Pope will cause many to fall away from the faith. The last pope, will usher in the apostate new world religion and is the False Prophet. The next pope to come, will be the last.
