I remember Bill Deal from the Peppermint Beach Club, Virginia Beach, backed Chubby Checker that night. I remember being in the company of Charlene Jefferies. Why would I remember that ? Bill Deal took beach music north to Virginia and onward.

Bill Deal died a few years ago; Ammon Tharp and his wife, Pat, are my neighbors; they're on 81st St.; I'm on 80th here in Va. Beach.
