@Rogerio34567 : I aswell agree. These types of amputations will change your life forever. It's like they're making life worse for you! I would rather suffer the cancer than having my limbs amputated! I honestly think these types of amputations are completely cruel and inhumane. There should be another way. Even though the people in the videos look completely ok with it - inside they are still hurt and stressed - and you don't need a psychologist to validate that.
@TheRandom8or I can imagine having either my legs or my arms amputated, but not BOTH arms AND legs. Apparently there are certain rare bilateral (both sides) eye cancers requiring removal of both eyes. I REALLY don't think I'd like that option very much.
Respect to these people. I might be a bit heartless but perhaps they should give quad amputees/ paralysed people the right to take their own lifes. I know if i ended up like this i would want to die, but then again im not as strong willed as these people :)
if i lost all of my limbs, i'd kill myself, if i lost a leg, meh, i can get a prosthetic leg, it would suck to lose an arm, and if i lose a finger, as long as it's not a thumb, i would care for about a month, if i lost a toe, not the big toe, i'd care for about a week, get over it, and move on
i must say these people have strong spirits and some of use should learn from them... they show one of the greatest out looks in life, always happy and cheerful, but yah some days aren't the best but hay they are determined to live... i just love to see when people live to the their lives to the fullest.
There are many other input methods for computers besides the keyboard. You might even know one used by Stephen Hawking, using his cheek muscle to speak and move with his wheelchair. The keyboard and mouse became standard only in the 1980s (the mouse was invented in the 1960s by Douglas Engelbart), and those who cannot use these devices have alternative input devices like the one Stephen Hawking uses.
hmmmmm i wasnt sure if this sort of thing existed ive heard of the triples and so forth but ive wondered if quads existed and moreso how they worked stuff out, pretty cool, humans are born the most helpless but grow up to be the most well able and this proves it!
Hey, guess what? I'm actually a quad! Technically I'm a hemicorporectomy amputee and my arms have been amputated at the shoulder. Don't feel sorry for us. We get the easy life and sometimes it's hard. Please, don't let a train run you over your legs and arms to become one of us to see if our life rocks or to get out of your hard life. Your still capable of many things. Take it from me, I'm an amputee. A QUAD AMPUTEE!!!! ;-)
@Zyloflex - You're talking to a girl who is actually scheduled for a translumbar amputation (hemicorporectomy) and doesn't for a second believe your age or your story. If I am mistaken, I hope you'll forgive me, but you are a total lying fake.
Not really. They still have to purchase pants along with a lot of things you might not think about. Attendant care services, special transportation and adaptations and additional services. Plus, the impact to the spouse of a person with a significant disability is substantial. I would say that the cost of pants are regarded with about as much concern as an able-bodied person.
Like, we need to do something for them. We need to develop high-tech prosthetics into true bionics to make these folks whole again. Until we do, so sad, babes!
It's been 2 years now since you posted - I assume you had the amputation, how are you adjusting to life with just one leg? I'm curious because I never know what my future holds.
Why does this make me so horny? I want to marry a quad amputee.

@best496 One can't grow entire limbs back. One can grow SMALL parts of fingers back, and that's about it.
