I went here at night with a few friends about 5 years ago. The place is super freaky. Medical equipment is still laying around. Random lights remain on. Be careful because cops are quick to show up.
I worked at Rosewood for 1 college semester in 1972 or 1973 (I think) for my psychology major while at UMBC. I had full access to all records, inmates (what they were called then) and buildings and really saw the hard side of life--something you can never forget but will always appreciate for what it was. These photos sure bring back memories since I've not been back to this area since about 1977. Sad to see history, good or bad, just abandoned.
Ahh exactly what i described at 1:20 when walking through there at night.. So creepy and cool.. Especially walking with a few pals and some headphones.
@dodgedip123 - CSX Past Aberdeen Train Station , Aberdeen Train Emergency , Trash Train past Aberdeen Station are three. I may have more, not positive.
@SarahSeeAndersen I want to make the trek down there to see the Enchanted Forest but I'm just always busy!! However another great area up by where I live is Bainbridge Naval Base and the Old Tome Boys School. I think it's like 1500 abandoned acres of amazing historical buildings and views. My favorite exploration to the day.
Do you know if you can still get into the Enchanted Forest? We're going there this weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to the old Tome Boys School on Port Deposit.
@MranonymousX1 - I haven't 'gone' to Enchanted Forest in a few years, but I've driven past it many times, and it looked the same. I don't know for sure if it's accessable or not, so I don't want to make myself a liar....
Hey! I went to the Enchanted Forest about two months ago. It's a great experience for urban exploration.
Sometimes its open and you can just walk in, but if not, go behind the buildings in the shopping center. There's an area where the metal fence meets a wood one and you can kind of squeeze though (: Good luck
Please treat this place with respect! It was kids looking for a haunting good time that burned down the Admin Bldg. Those of us who worked there were not overpaid state employee monsters that abused the people who lived there. Yes bad things happened there, but good things happened too. Rosewood was old and needed to close. There were so many building condition problems. But all was not solved to the people who lived there by simply moving them to the community group homes. Enough said.
Ashame to see old buildings go. Check out the Undweller on youtube. I think you will appreciate his work too. Good job, a part of American History Recorded. Thank You

@KailaMonet -These were taken a few years ago. At the time, you could just park there and walk over to the buildings. They were wide open.
