but i just jailbroke my ipod 10 mins ago not even that, i have jailbroken it b4 but i updated it to 4.1 from 4.0.2 and it was playing up alot, but i got it to work in the end and i rejailbroke it not even 10 mins ago, and it doesn't work, and i don't want to go thru all of that trouble again

@CykoTronnJr you can open terminal through spotlight. . . it is also in the utilities folder. If you dont know where terminal is or how to open it i wouldnt try this.

Your method is completely different than mine. All the commands in Terminal are so different as well. How can you even claim I didn't give you credit on a video you had no part of.
It does't work, i have a 3gs 3.1.3 and the baseband is old. so it should work. but no i have tried everything and nothing worked on pc or mac, it's like my iphone is immune to jailbreak. countless try's and still nothing.

@madsudler If you see the guy on your phone it is jailbroke and on 3.1.2 it has to finish loading the jailbreak and it will take your phone out of recovery mode just give it some time to do so.
no im on a mac. i tried everything i could possibly think of and it just doesnt work... i even wrote everything down just in case and tried it and it still won't revert back to 3.1.2.... i guess i'll just have to wait til 3.1.3 jailbreak comes out . hope its soon. all my apps have foreign signatures and now itunes wont put it back on my ipod touch 32gb. but its cool i'll wait i guess. till 4.0 for ipod touch is right around the corner anyways
@MiMundoCristiano there will never be a jailbreak for 3.1.3 out of the box like you would need if this is not working for you. you will have to wait for the 4.0 to be released and jailbroken which geohot has already done just not released the jailbreak

@ryan196 terminal is only on Macs. On windows it is called command prompt. If you didnt know that you probably should be trying this in the first place just saying. Dont want you to mess up your iPod our iPhone. Just wait till they release the 4.0 jailbreak.

Nothing worked at all. itunes tells me it cant restore my ipod back to 3.1.2. now i have TONS of apps that itunes won't place on my ipod touch .

What version of iTunes are you using? Also, is it important to drag the Libusb file to the lib folder at that exact time, or can you do it bedore you start the entire thing?

Do u have to use iPod touch 2g 3.1.2 firmware for the downgrade? I got it for 3g and it didn't make my iPod go into recovery. Can you just DFU it normally? Also, does this work for iPod touch 32gb? The iPod touch 3g 8gb is actually like a 2g iPod, so it is able to run 2g firmware.

Yes as long as you get the libusb-0.1.4.dylib to the correct folder you should be able to follow the rest of the video. And i posted what to do to the file on windows to make it work. . . i have not tested this because i do not own a windows computer but the directions were right for mac so im sure they are for windows

Once I did this my iphone never rebooted and the apple logo just stayed on and after a while shuts off and does the same thing over. totally worked - I'm on the firware 3.1.2 now.. unfortunately my modem firmware is 05.12.01 which means i can't downgrade to jailbreak... basically my iphone is an ipod touch now!

You would use whatever firmware of 3.1.2 is desgined for your ipod. And yes you can put it into DFU mode yourself then restore it yourself.

Your ipod has to be in recovery mode when you do that. That is the only reason i can think of that would make it say that.

chmod: libusb-0.1.4.dylib: No such file or directory is a problem did you add the "libusb-0.1.4.dylib" file to the desktop?
then after that you should be able to drag the "libusb-0.1.4.dylib" file to the "lib" folder and then drag the irecovery file to terminal

ps i have jailbroken tethered once before accidentally upgrading and i never saved my files to any host so please answer back and tell me if this is a problem and if this will work.
