  • dude your awsome i love your creativity and your thinking out side the box so to speek

  • I woulnt call these tiny "homes" because of the lack of heat, bathroom, electric etc. etc. Fort maybe.

  • Very creative! Personally, I'd rather live in an REI tent than something like this. A tent, you can transport on your back. But I loved the video. Watched the whole thing.

  • This is going to be the next great opportunity! With this economic collapse, there will be a great demand for this kind of construction and design. I can see many people trading down either willingly or unwillingly their McMansions for smaller homes, even tiny homes like this. I just saw a video of people in the UK living w/o mortgages on bought land in these kind of homes and they looked pretty comfortable to me. Think of all the free time from not having to work to pay off your house!

  • What does punk rock have to do with these homes?

  • "bizarchitect" I love it! You know, I don't have any carpentry or building experience. I would love to be able to go out back and build something nifty. Perhaps I ought to just forget that I 'cannot', and just do it. Thank you for the inspiration, Deek. Wish you were around HERE offering workshops!

  • Derick have been such an inspiration for me. Come late spring/summer im building a micro-cabin of my own!

This video was also very beautiful. Nice job!

  • This is AWESOME! I completely want to make a winterized shelter out of a couple of these!

  • Derek, I like your style. The sky is the limit for your ideas. You are doing really important work.

  • I totally agree with his philosophy....

  • I think Deek is brilliant, he is so entertaining to watch with his wacky way of explaining things and he keeps the watcher hooked at all times just waiting to see what hes going to show next. I love his designs, they are brilliant. I wish we had more relaxed laws in the UK so that we could build these houses and find a piece of land to just live our lives. Keep up the great work guys.

  • cheapest way to build.

    STACKED LUMBER WALL.

its a log cabin made out of 2x4s laid flat and nailed on top of each other

roof floor walls $7.50 per square foot plus pier foundation and utilities/appliances

Wall is a built up beam so pier spacing can be greater!

  • Very cool .If you need any more free building materials ,let me know .

  • i LOVE this.

  • Life is not Fair, Mother Nature is not Fair , So how do some humans being vain think we can change it ? I would tell them be-careful what you wish for FAIR would get real boring for US humans .

  • @showcosound because Mother Nature does not exist.

  • @showcosound nature is more fair than assholes with jobs and wars and such. Nature gives us drought ( dig a well) famine grow food disaster build stronger

Man gives us war ( need arms race lots of death) exploitation Need revolution mass protest

envoronmental degredation ( need another planet) So far man against nature is eisier struggle at which we have taken.

  • These mininature shelters are good for summer camping only. Would not want to be in one of these during winters in the north east.

  • @ngot74 True- as they were designed for that, as explained. Most of these could VERY EASILY be insulated, expanded upon, and outfitted with heaters though- but at this point in time I've had no time, or need, to do so. Thanks for checking out the video.

  • I WANT ONE how do i get one?

  • @ultimateisdumb Almost all of them are for sale (so as to have funds/space to make and tinker with NEW designs/ideas). You can email me through my blog site

  • respectttttt

  • just hookup bit.ly\n16lux

  • HOAs gonna have a bunch in thier panties!

  • this guy = awesome.

  • 2:21 Leatherface! haha

  • it would be so awesome if ppl had a gaming treehouse

  • Great designs...you put the green / recycle crowd to shame!

  • Omg... My two favorite Youtubers came together and collaborated on one video? Am I dreaming? Kirsten and Deek! I fear that a rift in the space time continuum might have just occurred!!

  • Seriously, this is the best "tiny home" video on the channel! :)

  • this is great my two favorite youtube channels come together deek and and kristen on one channel its hard to contain in my tiny house keep up the good works ... love dave.

  • Very cool. I love finding out that there are smart, unique people out there who are doing such interesting things with their time.

  • Once again Kirsten, you calmly point out to us that sometimes less is more. Another fine piece, and another face behind the scenes of the tiny house movement... Thank You.

  • Deek is awesome! I've been following his YouTube page for a while after I saw him in Make magazine! Never thought I'd see him here!

  • people should be allwowed to build whatever they want without code so long as they live in it and do not resell it.

  • I'm sure your neighbours love you.

  • @wink360 lol- funny thing is, both my neighbors actually contribute to the "materials stash" and bring me unique things, when they come across them- we've nicknamed our collective yards "Hoarder's Hill". And "The Boy From Norfolk"- understandable concerns, although these all survived hurricane Irene a few weeks ago- 70mph winds- and they all could very easily be insulated if the need or desire was there, plus, they're so small you could warm 'em with a single burp. Anyway, thanks all/Kirsten.

  • @relaxshacksDOTcom That's really great. Glad you are doing what you love without any negativity. Your wine bottle windows particularly inspired me. All the best.

  • nice

  • You Rock!!!

This is great, especially now that the economy is going into Total Collapse..

You will be fine, as the other 99.9% of the population is screaming through the streets looking for food..

    Bodies stacked two stories high...

  • how is he gonna transport the house that he's building for his client in NY?

  • @heomak

Good question. Any builder, keeping in mind that he will have to build a prototype and then dismantle to ship/transport, will number and map his/her materials. This map or instructions will then be sent to the customer much like I did with a couple of old barns.

  • @heomak Deek actually explained in his interview the process, but I couldn't fit it into the video. Here is how he explains it: "The Wolf's Den comes apart in 5 pieces. It's prefabricated. Each piece by themselves one or two people could be very capable of carrying. As a whole, I can lift it a few inches off the ground, a corner of this thing, but I wouldn't suggest doing it over and over or much chiropractic work would be needed as a result."

  • They look wonderful, but I don't think they'd survive a hard gale, or let the inhabitant survive a harsh winter.

  • @TheBoyFromNorfolk

Guess it be intelligent to build to suit your personal environment. I have a 16x16 and a 6x8 20 feet in a tree. 10 below zero, swayin in a tree, still good and warm. Experience life, Don't watch others do it. Overcome and adapt your dreams, do things that others may consider insane.

  • @Flyinghammer1

I just spent the last 9 months living in a trailer with two musicians. The buildings are good inspiration, which is what I think the Bizzaratech was going for with his work, rather than being actually working year round domiciles.

  • @TheBoyFromNorfolk

In your first post, you pointed out that it wouldn't survive a harsh winter, My response was to say that is is certainly possible to build, and winterize many of these designs, I have done this because when I first started looking into micro or mini homes I was disenchanted that so many of them were for south west year round weather. Dont live there, not going to, so I adapted, winterized and succeeded. Would like to see more in the north use these ideas.

  • @Flyinghammer1

Small houses are certainly easier to heat, and winterize than larger ones. I shared a room in the trailer, and the body heat was enough to keep the temperature above freezing, while without a room mate, ice formed on the inside of the glass.

  • @TheBoyFromNorfolk Agreed. Nice for a summer weekend, but not so much for living in through a nasty winter.
