  • Early 80s made a big impression on the 40 somthin heads. You shoulda been there....So many cutting edges.

  • blah blah blah wow you nerds are lame youtube dorks, you have no idea

  • @MrRobbynick "wow you nerds are lame youtube dorks" is like calling someone a butt ass hole

  • @MrRobbynick well, how did i get here?!

  • Same as it ever was

  • So, when trying to cyber-whine to someone about how they couldn't possibly know any better because they may be only 22...it's best to not come across like a 7 year old in your posts. And only 13 year old girls substitute "u" for "you" in any format other than texting. Bet you didn't know that either, huh?

  • Trey is an excellent guitarist who has jammed with many aweomely talented people in addition to creating his own body of work that is well-resoected within his community, McConnell is a really good keyboard player who does an uncanny Joe Walsh vocal impersonation, FIshman is powerful yet graceful drummer, and Mike Gordon is a seriously excellent bass player, who is also a great documentary filmmaker.

  • However, I would never ever say that they are "talentless", and they certainly aren't "disgraceful" - the highlights of every show I've seen are well-placed and deftly executed covers that remain faithful to the originals but with their own stamp -

  • but never was too huge into Phish's originals, though I've seen them a few times, and Trey solo and had good times, and if the ticket was cheap (or free) I'd go see them again, I rarely ever put on a Phish album or live recording, like ever. I feel like there is so much more to listen to in the world.

  • jojojigaboo, is it?? I'm 32, and disgraced that you are so immature for your age. Let me tell you and everyone else that I don't consider myself a Phish "fan"; I'm certainly into the Dead and the Allmans, and some of the harder rocking Southern-style"jam" bands like Spread, The Crowes, MTB, etc. and some like-minded bands,

  • It was awesome,I was so close you could feel Mike's bass on your chest.

  • no sir I have heard someone with no talent and his name is Billy Ray Cyrus

  • Hey jojo, get a life and post on songs you like. And get a little more creative with your confounded criticisms you wonk. And by the way, the Heads are pure 70-80's rock. We're you even alive then. Go home!

  • Hey jojo, get a life and post on songs you like. And get a little more creative with your confounded explicitives you wonk.

  • i cant help but smile whenever i hear phish

  • terrible

where do these asshole wannabes get off covering REAL musicians?

    disgusting!!!

    i HATE these loserz

  • @jojojigaboo

The really funny thing is that the band members themselves would be so ignorant not to realize just how bad they sound. I've played in bands that were bad, but we knew enough to at least realize that we were bad.

  • @gclafontaine

haha. well, the fish kids will be getting pissed any time now.

but yeah, this music is just SO wrong for them to be covering.

fish is more a "rock" band and I never considered Talking Heads a "rock band" in the lead guitar, bass, drums rock lyrics type thing ya know?

anyway, these guys aren't even that good. they are pretty boring and predictable even when they do "jam" and play rock stuff they still are so bland.

    no style!

i can't understand why they are even famous.

    terrible!

  • @jojojigaboo I doubt Phish consider much , eventually just play.

any sentence starting with "anyway" has no confidence...justification for justifications sake. "Jam" meet your ignorant cousin "Marmalade"

Please stop talking about your dress sense here..OOC.

I can't even understand your upside down !?!

    Es Terrible!

  • @TheStormhand

    say what?

    so u are 22?

u weren't even born for another 8 yrs when this music came out and now these PHUCKING losers are playing it (trying to play it i should say!)

they are disgraceful and have ZERO fuckinbg talent

    a bunch of dickheads!!

  • @jojojigaboo lol no im 32 but why would my age matter ? Its how my ears ring and heart sings, no? Why is it important to be negative about music you dont like? wouldnt your energy be better spent listening to music you do like and commenting on that?

Ice cream for the ears my friend ice cream for the ears :D

Like the good lord still says, "Its not what goes in your mouth but what comes out of it thats important!" (or in this case in Text ;D)

  • @jojojigaboo No, these people are talented. I have heard someone with no talent and his name is Billy Ray Cyrus.

  • @jojojigaboo "Fish is more a 'rock' band" "No style" "Boring and predictable"

Those 3 statements make me think u kno nothing about them. And seeing as how the talking heads was one of their biggest influences, I'd say it is a perfect album for them to cover. There is also a video of David Byrne (if you even know who that is) interviewing the band, so he obviously thinks they're pretty good. I would normally say you're entitled to your opinion, but your opinion is shit.

    Oh yeah, GREAT COVER

  • @gclafontaine Thanks for not posting here then in any real sense xDDD

  • @TheStormhand As you have astutely observed, I only post in a surreal sense.

  • And you may find yourself........Liking The Phish cover of any song they pick to do.

  • 1 asshole missed the like button.

  • Comment removed

  • It sounds different, but both versions are awesome. I like the talking heads version a little better, but I actually gained respect for phish here, for covering this song this well.

  • awesome

  • Greatest Show I've Ever Seen And ever will, at the Omni in Atlanta. Everyone thought it was a joke when the Programs were passed out, Fricken Sick

  • and you may ask yourself

  • When you can do a cover of this song/Remain in Light better than Phish then I'll give you respect but until then shut the fuck up

  • Phish should never have done any Talking Heads songs. Trey couldn't sound any more stupid than trying to sing a David Byrne song. My god, I can't listen anymore.

  • @gclafontaine Trey has never been a strong vocalist. It's no big secret. He has never attempted so sing past his ability either. The music, however, is close to perfect. David Byrne himself has enthusiastically complimented this effort. Talking Heads fans are just as snobbish as Phish fans sometimes.

  • @gclafontaine

    it's a fucking joke!

i cannot believe how stupid this sounds

  • when i listen to a song phish covered, even if ive heard it before, only phish's version will exist in my head, like the los lobo's cover of when the circus comes to town, and weens' roses are free, phish is just superior lol

  • fish

  • As a T-Heads fan...I like it!! (surprisingly)

  • no good

  • well, how did i get here?!!!!

  • in another part of the world, and you may find yourself..........

  • treys got a rgeat voice and all,but it just doesnt work for this. aside from that i like it though

  • wow, they shit all over this one

  • i love phish's covers they are so good

  • great song and a great version

  • kicking ass, per usual, brah.

  • I always wanted the hear their version. Thanks for the post.
