In real life, there is no treadmill to cling on to. I hate it when there's no treadmill available, and I look around, only to see people fake-walking or fake-running. So, basically, I have to wait till they've finished their fake exercise to use the machine. Get off the machine and let someone benefit from proper exercise. And the fitness instructors are so passive and indifferent - they don't correct these make-believe walkers and fake-runners. When did they lose satisfaction in their jobs?
Over a year ago, a fitness instructor at my local gym told this man not to cling on to the machine because it's not beneficial. He took her advice.... for a year. Now he's back to 'walking' on a 15% incline at over 7km/h clinging on to the console of the machine for dear life - as one does in one's normal everyday life! What a joke! There's one guy who's been coming to my local gym for at least 5 years, and he's been clinging on for all that time. 15% incline, 7.7km/h for all that time. Oh, dear
What most people at my local gym - and probably most gyms all over the world - do when they walk, is they cling on to the machine like their lives depend on it. What a joke! And the funny thing is, most of them, when they run, don't cling on the machine. Where on the machine does it say 'cling on when you walk, but not when you run'?
