Not against properly-tuned Sony Trinitrons, which are still cheaper than LCDs.

Even normal CRTs are much clearer than LCDs.

What puts me off CRTs is that you have to adjust them to get the picture all square, with LCDs its done for you.

It is only a matter of adjustment. It certainly beats an LCD that costs more money and provides a bad picture, as well as a bad refresh rate.

no no lcds have a refresh rate of 200Hz and more. Even though whats a good refresh do? On a LCD not alot. Anyway the only thing i hate about LCD is light bleed, which is fixed by LED backlighting. I think you dont like early LCD screens. Am sure the CRT was crap when it was first brought out.

And CRTs of the '50s look good if properly adjusted and maintained.

Ok here is one situation where CRTs are better. For once a agreeing with you.

We had a Mitsubishi 20" CRT from the 80's. only thing wrong it was a bit red toned. We got a 32" LCD and that broke the day we got it. I have had 2 LCD monitors backlights break as well.

but that's not the the matter of the screen but rather the electronic. i had an eizo crt that adjusted itself. the only thing keeping me away from crts is that they are hard on the eyes but in every other way they are better. but my eyes are too important.
