With all due respect MethodsMachine, I do believe the spindle in the Fanuc Robodrill MATE is a BIG PLUS standard. Granted, you may not advertise it as such, but the gap between the spindle and the tool holder is closed completely which can be the only cause for this. It is my understanding from Big Diashowa Seiki (spindle manufacturer) that all Fanuc spindles are BIG PLUS. Is this not the case?
To help explain, the Big Plus Spindle is not standard on Fanuc Robodrills or the Mate. However we import each one with Big Plus "as standard" on the Robodrill series but not the Mate due to the cost prohibitive nature. It is possible due to production availability that Fanuc put some Big Plus spindles on the Mate, but it was certainly not a standard item.
In a nutshell, you may have found a great prize in the cereal box. Consider it a bonus if you have one!

The Big-Plus option is standard equipment on the Fanuc Robodrill, but not the Robodrill Mate.
