  • Nikola Tetris

  • I read solid snake tesla coil. I was sorely disappointed.

  • The cool new candle! Someone should play lightning by the wanted XD

  • but does it blend?

  • @imlink1 y u no meme right?

  • Dude. How can I use my guitar with a tesl coil?

  • Holy shit!

  • omg so cool

  • Nothing like making electricity our bitch... I mean instrument.

  • Got this from a russian Haapy Meal?!?!?!

  • Nikolai would be proud.

  • How much Kilowatts does it take to play Tetris once? :D

    Nice Work!

  • Маладца! +1

  • Nice! I really like the pauses/short spurts.

  • nice job

  • FCKIN AWSOME

  • 1. Build another one

    2. Program MIDI with only two tracks (R and L)

    3. Attach MIDI player to coils

    4. ???

    5. Profit!

  • So totally awesome!!! Tryin to build tesla coil but can't untangle the wires!!

  • This is a great example of how not all things in movies are fake. (Sorcerer's Apprentice).

  • Tetris = Russian

    Tesla = Russian

    Video = WIN

  • @CufinFan Tesla was not Russian... He was Serbian. (OR Croatian, I cannot remember.)

  • @CufinFan My favorite genius was from Serbia. Lots of folks from Russia would like to claim him, but he was from Serbia. Video was still a win though.

  • What happens if you grab the arc while it's playing?

  • @PAVN You either lose all of your hair, or die.

  • Science project, anyone?

  • You could probably improve the sound quality stabilising the electrical arc. Try hanging an earthed conductor above the coil- so the arc remains relatively stationary, and therefore the sound is generated from the same place.

(If you have a normal portable speaker and wave it around, the sound appears distorted, try it with a spare mobile phone.)

  • wooooooooooooooow...dude that's really cool!!!!!!!!!

  • Video is good ! For more Tesla tech pls watch video: "Tesla cold electricity" by HorizonDelta.

  • what if you used a modulation transformer in your GDT line? (driver side)

  • hey can you make it do the Elite 4 pokemon song?

  • Shitty graphics.

  • i wish i knew what the hell yall are talking about... i really do! I want a tesla coil so bad! Im working for Tesla company that we produce tesla coils for a bunch of nerdy scientists, im just the distributer manager... so i know nothing of them...

  • How come most SSTC's are shorter and fatter than SGTC's?

  • This makes it sound like the Parkerman1700 remix!

  • Did you make this?

  • It sounds like when my Gameboy would run out of batteries.

  • Would it actualy be possible to use a keyboard from a playtoysynth and aply it to the circuit to make a musicinstrument out of it?

  • I think if you wanted a smoother sound, you need a higher resonant frequency inside your coil circuit. Am I right?

  • @mushu5t 400khz should be enough for a very clear sound. This circuit is self tuning but it takes a few ms every time its turned on to find that resonance freq. That is why this circuit can never be clear for real audio. It will be different if a stationary oscillator is used, but this reduces spark length.

  • @TeslaCommander does the spark length have any effect on the sound produced?

  • @TeslaCommander i have heard tesla coils play it pretty clear.

  • @mushu5t i think its also part due to the camera qwalidy being generally low and the interference thousands of volts has on the camera

  • what happend if u touch?:O

  • @hps94 u die :O

  • clearly fake. You can hear like percussion and multiple instruments!

  • thats friggin sweet

  • So basically, you connected the power for this teslacoil to the speaker output of an amplifier?

  • Fake? You are a noob! With a 555 modulated flyyback you can build a plasma speaker, You can also build a device with a modulated input on a SSTC. Its not very easy, but not hard either. Google some schmatics, and its not that hard. Play The Monsters theme, on a coil like this, while handing out candy, its epic.

  • @TrenteR557 Actually if you design the coil and driver right, you can achieve sparkles of over 3x the coil height.

  • @TrenteR557 don't comment on shit you don't know anything about.

that right there is as real as it gets bitch.

  • @TrenteR557 SPARKLES?LOL they are called corona

  • @TrenteR557 You are right. It's Fake. The video is edited.More over than what you said, you can notice that there is to reflection of the sparkle on the background.

  • nice synth!

  • wow, that is the coolest sounding Tesla coil i've ever heard. man i love science!

  • awsome !:D

looks dodgey! wudnt like to be side it

  • Nice. If only it was simple sine wave notes, would sound far more crisp :D

  • God damn this is awesome

  • SCIENCE POWER.

  • Nikola Tesla FTW! ^^

  • @dinodemic Move over Ben Franklin!

  • If I remember correctly the music for C64 Tetris is very different.

  • nice

  • Awesome, its the gameboy version of tetris.

  • genial!

  • doesnt this mess up you head

  • this will be really funny if this sound was in a scary movie and when the tv get static it will make this sound

  • I did the same with a hdd...

  • nice!

  • I think, you are generating a pulse signal with a mosfet for the coil and with an other mosfet you are controling the output.

  • This is the way I want to die. Struck by a tetris-playing lightning bolt.

  • awesome!!!

  • same here, or get sucked into a black hole, whichever comes first...

  • DUDE FAWKIN' AWESOME!!!!

  • I have never seen so many + thumbs up ever... Excellent.

  • @LordEsper this can t kill you i stand near 3 milion volt tesla coil in nikola tesla museum in croatia and guide said that it cant kill you, volts are NOT dangerous 2 things that kills people in electricity is frequency and amps!!!!!

  • @martyn347 Thank you Martyn for explaining that electricity is perfectly safe. All this time I was convinced that sticking my fingers in electrical outlets was dangerous, but your brilliance has disproved the reaction of atoms. Einstein be damned, you sir are a beacon of light in these dark times.

  • @LordEsper are you making fun of me?? i never said that electricity is safe , just stick your finger in power supplies and you re gone. i just said that high frequency electricity is NOT dangerous. but low frequency electricity is dangerous, european homes are using electricity witch has frequency of 50- 60 hz and 250 volts and it can kill you.

  • @LordEsper XD

  • @LordEsper You'll not die from that thing even if you want to .

    : P

But Idea is cool , only , i prefer heavy metal modulated streamers .

  • Really, how many times cooler than an ordinary speaker is this? The sound quality is worth it!

  • is this the gameboy version of the tetris theme and are you playing the actual audio instead of a midi file, ive seen ppl use midi files to play musical tesla coils but i think playing real music is cooler than midis

  • ??? Alguien me puede esplicar esto en español? Can somebody tell me in spanish what is this?

  • Pretty cool. I hope someday independent neighborhoods will go off the grid and utilize this technology.

  • nice SSTC!

  • Actually this is the perfect defense against a mother who likes to turn your game off half way through!

  • If you build a second one you can split the work. Basically "do what they did". They = geek group.

  • well i could just try copying their work.. but what im trying to develop here is a smooth soud from a single coil. i know this is possible and i am slowly getting better at it;)

  • how loud is this thing?

  • This coil produces about 100 DB at 1m distance (really deafening).

  • ilikeyourname :P.

Btw very impressive coil.. It was the mini sstc? What switching devices did you use?

  • this is so cool, nice choice of song, what a nice culture this music comes from :)

  • what is the link that you got plans

  • Very nice video

  • ..Like your setup..You are close to one bad ass Herf gun..*Think pressure & how can you increase*..???...The military has spent millions trying to figure that out...They even used a bomb the start of the Iraq illegal occupation which was suppose to knock out electronics...It did not work..Keep up the good work...Enjoyed viewing...

  • very nice tesla coil!and what audio modulated tesla coil doesnt have just a little bit of distoration.cause your isnt bad distoration anyway......keep up the good work.and btw very nice description

  • how did you find out how to build atesla coil? Please post a website if that is the source of your knowledge.

  • sorry for the late response, i got most of the information of steves tesla site. I added a link in my discription.

  • Thanks, the link on my computer wasn't working before but now it is. Even so it will be exceedingly difficult for me to build it because of inexperience.

  • lol i want to play this song on my first sstc whats it called?

  • This is tetris:)

its a nintendo song, but a bit hard to recognise tru al the dirstortion;)

  • korobeiniki

  • i like this coil design , what mosfets did you use , im sick of using 2n3055 npns lol. p.s i also like the break out point very nice.

  • I used IRFP 360 HEXFET N-channal. These fets are 23A at 400volts, Ipeak 96A.

This allows me to pump up the supply voltage up to 270 volts with no problem.

  • Where did you get/buy your coil?

  • I made this coil myself, of an 8 cm diameter pvc tube and 190 meter of 0.24mm copper wire.
