  • "Itadakimasu" *bows/nods head* DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWW

  • Doko no petto shop ni kattandesuka?basho to petto shop no namae oshietekudasai...onegaishimasu

  • キツネを買うために許可とか必要ですか?

  • @Arthasu あなたがどこにいるかに応じて、1つを購入することができます。

  • @Deviant2591 東京では購入できますか?

  • This video is a good example of how pretty much any animal can be trained with classical conditioning. I bet Cesar Milan couldn't train a Fennec with his methods.

  • Adorable!! And so is her voice. XD

  • They are actually an evolutionary miniature versions of dogs because, this species is said to be the smallest canid in the world. A trick that is so useful when it comes to surviving in one of the most worst places in the world such as the Sahara Deserts in North Africa.

  • Why poor quality? Radiation?

  • Osowari=Sit By the way ^ ^ It's Japanese for sit. Watch Inuyasha, It's A Funny And Cute Show...Cute In A Way XD Love his Fox !!

  • These are such adorable kitsune!

  • wow are you practiceing for a pokemon contest (eevee 1st place) :)

  • I'll be getting myself a fennec soon, and was wondering if it would be possible to train them, then I stumbled into your video. It is indeed a well trained little fox. Besides it is really cute. That combined with the fact that she's speaking in Japanese earns you a Like and Fave :D

  • I love this, it's so cute when it bows. I love the language you speak too. I'd so keep one but I don't know if we can get them here in England

  • THAT FOX CAN SPEAK JAPANESE!

  • @FPKissrProductions KAWAII!!!

  • If u think about it, an animal has no idea what ur saying and it never will, it's like someone that speaks English is trying to obey someone who speaks Chinese, they learn from u repeating it and praising them.

  • @DeerWolves

Meaning derives from how you experinece a word, so no two definitions will ever be exactly the same in a population, but they may be very close. If these variations didn't occur, language would never evolve.

  • @FlowCell i agree

  • @DeerWolves

Oh, animals have SOME language understanding capacity. How much depends on the type of animal as well as on how intelligent (and how cooperative) the particular animal of that species is.

Now they'll never understand you talking to them, sure. But even so many animals can learn to associate meaning with quite a lot of single words. Although some animals respond better to gestures. Depends on the individual.

  • @TheSkunkCat

In fact talking parrots are probably a good window into the mind of a fairly clever animal. (And it's not unlikely a sufficiently smart cat or dog would be around a similar enough level (And all of those have at least individuals that can solve problems and simple puzzles)

It's a level that can to a certain degree be compared to a very young child. Not quite, but there's thoughts going around in those little heads.

  • @TheSkunkCat

Fact is, alot of people still hold to the WAY outdated view that animals only run on instincts. But that's bullshit.

If that where true you could put any single animal born and raised in captivity back in the wild with no problems whatsoever. If instinct was all there was, they'd all go back perfectly. (Whilst in reality it's hit or miss with some species being so bad at it, they can't be released into the wild if born in captivity, because they won't know what to do at all.)

  • @TheSkunkCat i completely agree(:

  • @DeerWolves -

sorry you are so convinced about this idea.

My experience with animals over 25 years has proven itself otherwise to me.

Similar to the experinces of many others who have love and respect for animals

    and their pets.

  • @meriprem ????i never said i dont love my animals and have compassion for them lady, you have no idea who i am, what i wrote down there was just a THOUGHT if you read it correctly it says "IF you THINK about it..." so keep your own opinions to your self.

  • @DeerWolves when i say walk my dog brings me a leesh though

  • @yellowmon123 well again its a repeating kinda thing. just like a routine you do in the morning or whatever, say you wake up up every morning and do the same routine every morning. well say one morning you get up and do some of your routine, and your so tired you finally realize your standing there brushing your teeth like you do every morning in your routine. BUT im not saying thats what its like for your dog, what im saying is everytime you go for a walk you use the leash and your dog....

  • @DeerWolves remembers the leash and thinks "hey? if i dont have this i dont go for a walk" (well not exactly like that but you know what i mean) ...and your dog knows that it needs the leash, its kinda like a command if you think about it.(i hope you understand what im trying to tell you lol(:

  • oh, i didn't think u actually could train them to that kinda stuff ! but i'm still worried 'bout the whole 'take a wild animal into ur house' thingy . . . but sure, they're totally cute !

  • itadakimasu!!! *bows* awwww dig in!

  • omg omg omg it bows its head when the owner says thank you!!

    so cute!

  • Ahhhh you're japanese, the sound of your voice is as adorable as the cuteness as the animal. I surely want a fennec someday, hopefully next year, so I'm taking my time to study what is essential about them so I could have one as pet and know how to keep it well.

  • Maybe they should be illegally imported just to start a colony. Imported species tend to flourish in Australia a lot. That would make good LULz.

  • I didn't realize they could be trained. I'd get one in a second if it wasn't illegal here in australia

  • I want one how do u train it

  • where do u get one im in love with them

  • I love its ears ^^

  • ting tong wing wong chong.

  • @DAlLYBOOTH that doesnt even mean anything dumbasssssssssssssssss

  • Very cute! He must love you alot to listen like that.

  • If I get one, I'm SO naming it Eevee. Reply or thumbs up if you get the reference.

  • I can't believe your dog understands Japanese. That's amazing!

  • @medicinegone No more amazing than an animal that understands English commands. Trained animals will respond to whatever language they were trained in.

  • @WingParadox LOL. Really? Thanks.

  • @medicinegone It's a fox.

  • Lol I knew that osuwari meant sit cuz of watching inuyasha lol

  • @HorseRiderz4Life haha me too XD

  • Cute:)

  • Might have been ok if the video wasn't out of focus.

  • HOW ADORABLE!!! It bows when you say "itadakimasu"~ That's so~ GAH! *implodes from cuteness overload*

  • I love how an awesomely trained fennec video has nothing but complaints about cannabis XD I don't smoke it, but I do believe it should be legalized as it's safer than cigs.

  • Cool!

  • KAWAII!^_^

  • Japanese people have cute voices. Of course a persnickety fox will do what a japanese woman tells it. > . > That's just two things that go together. lol

  • These things should be in the wild ;(

  • @theowenerer And live off from what, earthworms and scraps of suburban garbage for food? Keep in mind that we keep tearing their habitat and animals come to our homes, so there's nothing we can do about it, since they've grown used to our presence.

I guess we should release all the domesticated dogs into the wild then, see how they fare >_> Because the Fennec Foxes have been bred to be domesticated, at some point.

  • ITADAKIMASU!

  • The responsiveness from the fox is amazing. Before she even finished the phrase 戴きます, the fox bowed its head on the first syllable. This is one intelligent species we're got here...

  • please respond. how do you train it so well? i plan on getting one, but it might be aggresive. please tell me.

  • @legomaker8

Easy, that isn't my fennec fox. The best way to train them is with repetition, just like you would a dog. If you can train a dog, you can train a fennec, just give a fennec more patients since they tend to be more stubborn.

  • @FlowCell i wouldn't use the term "stubborn" so much as probably just confused. Dogs have been working closely with the human race for centuries, these little foxes on the other hand are going to require more time and patience to "connect" with. With an exotic animal that has only been domesticated for a few decades at the most, I'd say developing a trusting bond with the animal would most certainly be the most beneficial thing you can do in order to get results.

  • @legomaker8 Google "clicker training." I'm sure operant conditioning is the best way to train an exotic animal. Any heavy handed force or corrections would surely confuse it. that is why trainers in zoos use clickers, and it started in the marine biology field. Most dogs that learn tricks do so much more quickly with clicker training/operant conditioning than any other method.

  • did you know that feenec foxes can read minds?

  • @zoroark99

Yes, but I am specially trained to resist their psychic abilities.

  • @FlowCell !

  • @FlowCell !!! can u read minds?!

  • @FlowCell WHAT THEY READ MINDS?????????

  • @zoroark99 really???? like how?

  • Kawaiii!

  • not japanese. korean. rich korean

  • @kroovyandcal are you talking about the lady speaking? yeah, that's japanese.

  • @kroovyandcal no, that is Japanese.

  • I wanna Fennec Fox now SOO bad!!!

  • @ktrany55

Hate to tell you this, but a pet is NOT a personal collectible. You have to take care of it with a lot of hard work. You got to treat pets with proper care.

  • How does that fennec know Japanese??

  • @GwendolynRaine Same way any other animal in captivity understands their master.

  • @GwendolynRaine

He must have had a very good translator, as the Fennec foxes' native language is a particularly odd dialect of Swahili. :P

  • i need one of these :]

  • I live in sweden and like cats but these foxes seem so awesome ^^

  • You have to live theese poor things outside and don't take them in a houser or catge man.

  • @JamaicaZwiebel It has a way better life being domesticated in a safe home where it is guaranteed quality meals everyday from a loving owner

  • naruto should learn how to train his fox from her hahaa

  • @asianRSXdriver91

    reealllyyyy

    -_-

  • @OneTrueCanine lol y not?

  • A very interesting little pet. I hear they're popular in Florida, something around 1k from a breeder.

  • Yep. I can vouge for the japanese words she's telling it to do. That is one well trained fennec fox.

  • The little kicking the front foot out! X3 It's killin me- so cute~!!

  • Beautiful little fox have not had a Pet in YEars

  • LOL she taught it to itadakemas. (You say this and bow your head before a meal, similar to saying grace or thanking a cook for the meal.)

    So adorable.

  • That animal is one legit Evee!

  • If a fennec fox is that well trained and born in captivity, will it come back if it runs out? Or will it be gone forever?

  • @Dizzie71

I don't know. I never let mine out.

  • @FlowCell ah... but can you go out with it can you put it on a lead?

  • @Dizzie71 Yes, you can use a lead, but they are so small, the danger of them slipping their collar or harness is a constant worry. I've had to many close calls to tempt fate anymore.

In my area, even if my fennec could make his way back home, he'd have too many predators to deal with. The coyotes would tear him apart for sure. He's much safer in my home with the dog.

  • @FlowCell yeah... the best is to keep them inside but i live in sweden and we don't have coyotes here (coyotes is some kind of wolves right?) so maybe if you can get a smaller lead, you can let him out, but what other predators hunts fennecs? (those bastards >:( ) because maybe there are other predators in sweden that hunts fennecs...

  • @Dizzie71 A coyote is like a small wolf, yes, but they aren't quite the same. I live on the outer most edge a major metropolitan area, and the coyotes are not afraid to enter human territory. In fact, coyotes tend to live off human existence, rather then be hurt by it, but you'll rarely ever see them, only hear them. They are like ghosts.

Other predators... wolves, hawks and falcons, and pretty much all bird of prey since fennecs are "rabbit" sized.

  • gosh, those ears! XD

    so awesome

  • I almost forgot: (3) the animal is not dangerous to other animals or people in its environment.

  • I'm not a supporter of PETA because of their extremism and absolutism. I support anyone having ANY animal as a pet, provided (1) the animal is happy with the owner and well-cared-for, and (2) the owner has access to proper medical care for the species. Any animal that is not domesticated faces extinction sooner or later as man expands his reaches. Men don't care, and governments don't either. When animal Nazis dress people down for their pets, they generate ill will toward their cause.

  • Oct 15 is my birthday, i feel so special.

  • TO toxicpimpsmack -please stop to pritch!! you cannot addopt , they better kill an animal than "APPROVE' application....I have a dogs, all healthy, vet approved, health insurance..etc.. guess what they not even respond..u know why? they are killers!!

  • hey PETA concern.. ADDOPTION OUT OF

  • haaaaaaaaaa kawaii *o*

  • I think fennec foxes are adorable. But I heard they are very difficult to keep as pets, that training is next to impossible and escape is a very major concern. You own one right? whats your take?

  • They are more difficult then a dog or cat, but not that much. Training takes longer, but similar to a dog. Much easier then training a cat.

Escape is a concern, but if you are careful, it isn't a problem. If they get loose, they may be lost forever, so strict rules about opening and closing doors much bet observed, just like you would with any zoo animal.

Fennec foxes are NOT for the casual pet owner, and yes, they can and do bite when pissed off.

  • cute, wicked cute but all should adopt a cat or dog...breeding or buying animals from breeders literally takes a home away from an animal in the shelter. dont buy one to kill another.

  • What a PETA idealist.... Yeah, sure. It's great to adopt, it really is, but don't hurt the ethical breeders in the process of trying to hurt the images of puppy mills and backyard breeders. No, it's not the dogs' fault for being at the shelter. Blame the owners who relinquish them. Blame the unethical breeders who don't keep up with the puppies they sell. If you adopt, it is less expensive to adopt from a rescue than shelter (and the dogs are healthier too). But you think what you think.

  • no need to be defensive, just trying to promote adoption, that is all i meant by it. i wasnt pasisng judgement or blame just a few quick sentences to remind those to adopt before buying i actually think you might feel the same way...but your very quick to be arguementative.

  • Foxes overall are canine, but they have different mannerisms than dogs, many of which resemble a cat's behavior. So people often mistake them for being feline.

Of course it understands Japanese, it's in Japan~ Though, like any animal trained to do some tricks on command, the pattern of sounds that makes up a word oft used when talking to them is probably what they come to recognize.

Amazingly well-trained. And uncanny that a modern Japanese person was able to discipline something so cute hehe~

  • Training a fennec is all about consistency and repetition. I taught my fennec to stay away from his food bowl until I say its okay for him to eat. It builds trust between us because now he knows that I want him to have food.

  • @FlowCell I'm curious about fennec behaviour: the ones I've seen on Youtube seem to be very skittish and hyper; is this typical? Can they be "lap" pets; cuddly, affectionate, etc?

  • @wynternight777 - i know that question was directed to FlowCell, but i would like to put in my two cents. I think for the most part they are pretty energetic little dudes and probably won't be good lap pets (though of course they have their down time), but they can be affectionate and cuddly at times. so its probably a mix of both but more energetic than not. I am not an expert by any means but i have been looking into fennecs recently.

  • Fennecs are lap pets when they want to be. They actually make a better shoulder pet, actually, but be sure to wear a canvas shirt to protect your skin from their claws. They aren't sharp (unless you just clipped them), but they do hurt. They use their claws like running cleats.

My fennec is very loving and affectionate when I come home, and really isn't all that skittish, but he was very well socialized. He's a little testy during breeding season, though.

  • where did you get yours? do you live in the US

  • I like in the US. My foxes breeder lives in Edmond, Oklahoma, but she quit the business.

  • @FlowCell How on earth did you do that?

  • You start by saying the word "stay" while holding the food in front of him and pulling it away the moment he goes for it. Then say "okay" or "good boy" when you give it to him. You do that a few hundred times, and you can work him up to the food bowl.

It's all about him learning to trust me. This is a good exercise because it teaches him that he doesn't need to be food possessive and that I never withhold anything.

  • Ohh never mind thanks!

  • It's great what you've done and it's a beautiful pet, but that's a Pavlovian response, not a trust thing really.

  • The Pavlovian response is when you've conditioned an animal to respond physiologically to a stimulus (like become hungry at the ringing of a bell.

What my fennec does is a learned behavior because he knows he won't get his treat unless I say it is okay. He knows I'm (usually) too fast for him, but sometimes he'll cheat and get a free snack without being obedient.

  • Oh wow! Thanks! That's a really good exercise.

  • Intresting I have never tought of that before how do you teach him to wait? I could really use that for my dogs I want to be closer to them :)

  • He learns that the act of waiting is what brings the food. It is amazing how well you can teach an animal the value of delayed gratification. However, fennecs have a very short attention span, so you can't make them wait too long.

  • its ears are sooo big!!

    how cute!

  • cool, the fox understands japanese... =D

  • That is way too cute.

  • What a beautiful fennec. Very well trained too c:

  • Holy... crap lol, that is definitely a very well trained fennec lol XD I knew they were smart, still finding out just how smart they are though.

  • or ure some how under the illusion dogs are magicly put here to be are pets and wasnt wolfs not long ago?

  • i hate you sort of fucking idiots. your the same sort of fucking idiot who probably calls cannabis a Drug and thinks tobbaco is fine.

your a MUG and you listen to what your told without question. and your stuck in your ways.

why is a fucking dog ok as a pet and not other animals?

either the theory and practice of keeping animals as pets is ok in which case shut up or its not in which case complain about dogs also.

obvioulsy animals that get stressed shouldnt be pets but any social animal can.

  • Hm, I love such intelligent replys.

  • @topbluffa1

Tech. cannabis is a family of weeds, not all of which contain THC.... The rest is basically rope. And yeah, I think it's pretty stupid to smoke anything. The idea of setting something on fire and then sucking on it while it burns just comes off boneheaded to me. I watched my great grandfather die a slow painful death to Emphysema, so. If your argument is " It's retarded to have wild exotic animals as pets AND smoke things", then I would have to say I agree.

  • smoking cannabis not related to any diseases what so ever.............

emphysema, black lung or anything else.

and no one says you have to smoke it you can vaporise it eat it whatever you want.

  • @topbluffa1

Uh. Irritation of the lungs results from inhaling smoke and disintegrated particles. If you're so detracted from reality that you think weed smoke isn't smoke, you need to have you brain checked for tumors instead of assuming it's the weed.

And yeah, you can vaporize it. But you still inhale the side stream smoke from the bowl. And besides that, no one I know that's a loser enough to care about smoking only vaporizes it.

Now you can address my actual comment instead of that. :D

  • wrong you fucking pathetic brainwashed sheep smoking cannabis is more beneficial than it is harmful FACT

the point is i dont CARE if it was harfull its my human right to smoke it

McDonalds harms you but its your choice if you want to get fat

Tobacco gives you cancer which cannabis CANT do in fact it can prevent tumours

so if you SERIOUSLY believe that cannabis is illegal because of health reasons then your PATHETIC brainwashed and i dont want to spend a single second longer wasting time on you

  • @topbluffa1

Yeah. Start looking for those tumors man. And smoke some more weed too, if you get too sober all at once, people might decide they don't want to deal with you. :D Just sayin'.

  • horse riding is thousands of times more dangerous than cannabis.

and so is even water. are you suggesting we make those two illegal?

and secondly what do you think making something illegal accomplishes? it doesn't stop anything it simply hands the market to Criminals...............

    pathetic child logic.

  • @knightofhope111 no. the "losers" who vape their weed are most likely patients with serious illnesses. they care about smoke because they already have enough to worry about. I have never heard of: "side stream smoke from the bowl" either in a vaporizer so don't make shit up. Vaporization has no smoke, hence the root word VAPOR dumbass. Now you can address THIS astute comment and shove yours up your ass

  • Actually, It's closer to a mix between a dog and a cat. Get this though, fennecs are very loyal animals. As their owner, you are their best friend in the world. Dogs are simply domesticated wolves. They too have wild animal instincts that I doubt will ever be broken. The fennec fox is exactly the same. They even have the same affectionate nibble that comes natural in the wild.

  • Fennec's make great pets if you do your homework first. They're not for everyone, sure; but is any dog for everyone?

  • Well thnx bcuz i want one soo bad nd i am going to do lots nd lots of research!!

  • omg i can understand everything she says thankyou anime

  • nice

  • same xDD I love how she gets it to bow for when theyre about to eat!

  • INUYASHA!!!!!! OSWARIIIIIII!!!!!!!! rofl

  • i admit, that was the same thing i thought >.> x)

  • Is there -anything- the japanese can't do?

    Seriously!

  • A decent video encoding is apparently on that list.

  • @ReeToric Defeat godzilla?

  • @ReeToric yeah come up with an original idea.

  • HOW CUTE!! It must have been a challenge to train them :3

  • Itadakimasu~ So cuuuute!

  • Impressive ^^

Fennec Foxes are cute, I wish I could speak Japanese too LOL

  • I wish I could speak Japanese

  • I don't think that the little fellow understood more than than us. I guess he was just happy to get the food.

  • Are they illegal in Texas?

  • No, you shouldn't need a license to own one in Texas, but you should check on your area's laws first.

  • they are, i bought one in San Antonio

  • heyy i live in san antonio! where did you get one? and for how much?

  • thats adorable! X3

  • i-ta-da-ki-ma-su.

  • wish they make them legal pets in california too

  • Why don't you just move out of California. From what I can tell, it's a lousy place to live, anyway. They pretty much want to make everything illegal that doesn't involve the anus or marijuana.

It's kind of funny, but this whole exotic pet thing is what got me so turned on to libertarianism.

  • Its kinda funny how so much is illegal in California. I used to live there. Love the place, just wish the government there would get the stick outta its ass.

  • you are not my comrad if you are so openly disloyal to the Republik of Kalifornia, where government always knows best. *clicks boots*

never seen a pet fox before, how cute. wonder what challenges there are to domesticating them, as compared to a dog or cat. =)

  • i seriously cannot get over how big its ears are X3333

  • But they don't yap so they are so much cooler!!!

  • its a breed of domesticable fox silly ^w^

  • Ohh i just want to HUG him :'(

  • i want a fox OwO

  • I'm going to get one named Potato when I live in Japan. It's going to be great~

  • ...potato? xD

  • X3 Yes. Potato.

  • I have no idea why.. but I somehow love you for this. xD That is the best name ever! You got me and my friend laughing, but in a good way. Thanks for making me smile, it ain't easy to do that.

  • Me and my friend smile and say aw... We love fennec foxes~
