The song is "Top Gun Anthem," By Harold Faltermier (sp) and Steven Stephens (sp). God bless the Air Force, but it must also be noted that top gun and the song has more of "US Navy" theme, since the movie is about Navy F-14s. I had the privelege of seeing an Air Force demo, and the Blue Angels (Navy) this past summer, and the Blue Angels used the Top Gun anthem, as appropriate...

I wonder why the Navy calls themselves that...

I think we should fix it. The marines and navy should work water. The Navy should be aircraft carriers and whatnot, and the marines can work on the sea based planes. The airforce should do the air(bombers, fighters, copters), and the army should be ground(infantry and armor). That makes sense. I don't see why the Navy has planes (and why the marines call themselves marine when they have nothing to do with water, besides drinking it).
