I love this movie. Think I am going to watch it again tonight, have a few more bowls and watch. Whenever I see people saying that the movie made no sense, usually that person is stupid. This is probably one of my favorite movies.
I lol'd when Arctor decided to kill himself and he had Ayn Rand's book with him. And the sin thing was even funnier..
@Bayplaces Exactly! I had someone watch this movie. Actually 2 people watch this movie and they didn't get what it was about. I may be wrong too but I go the impression that it was about the Govt or so called authorities who are the ones bringing the drugs in and then busting their own citizens for using them because we know that prison is big business in America. It also shows how the big brother can spy on you too. If people think they don't listen in then they are naive to whats going on.
@Starstreak817 ''This has been a novel about some people who were punished entirely too much for what they did....Drug misuse is not a disease, it is a decision, like the decision to step out of a moving car...There is no moral in this novel; it is not bourgeois; it just tells what the consequences were.''
-Philip K. Dick, author's note in A Scanner Darkly.
So you see, it's about drug abuse. The New-Path subplot is just a great idea he had. Rehab facilities manufacturing and selling drugs.
Okay, I'm getting some feedback for something obviously unacceptable I presume since I notice it was removed, I'm just gonna say, I loved the movie, and love this song more, I said my peace, now leave me the f$&@k alone, and let me be!

What will grow crooked, you can't make straight
It's the price that you gotta pay
Do yourself a favour and pack your bags
Buy a ticket and get on the train (x2)
Cause this is fucked up, fucked up (x2)
People get crushed like biscuit crumbs
And lay down in the bitumen
You have tried your best to please everyone
But it just isn't happenin
No, it just isn't happenin
