1. Americans call black citizens from other countries African Americans because in the mind of your average white American, any black person is automatically equal to "African American." For example, if a stupid American went to England, he would call a black British man an African American out of habit.
The fact that the American does that is because Americans are forever xenophobic and ethnocentric.

lol, you know what i'm going to have to agree with you on that one. Some American's are just plain stupid but i love the more knowledgable and the less xenophobic ones. But i will say this some stupid British people get their minds fucked up as well. They just have no clue what they are talking about and i'm like if you know nothing just shut up. But most British people are respectable. Some of the American's behaviour makes me feels xenophobia towards them. lol, but i like to keep an open mind.

While her father is from Ecuador, it is not totally uncommon for Latin-Americans to have blonde hair and blue eyes (in fact one of her father's brothers is a blue-eyed blond according to Christina's mother). The Conquistadors were often blue-eyed blonds and some Latin Americans exhibit those traits.

I can tell Christina gets nervous in one-on-one interviews. She gets flustered and uses too many "umms", "uhhs" and "you knows", but she does show glimpses of what an intelligent and articulate woman she can be.
