i worry that the relevance of ron paul's anti war message will not be felt as we improve the situation in iraq. The improvement is amazing and I feel that if ron paul won the election, he should wait a bit longer than a few months to let our troops win. However, the war for me is not the main issue. The weak dollar, the fed, and our energy dependence is more important to me so I support Ron Paul even though I differ on the Iraq issue.
I think that you are missing the point...We should not be policing that country during their civil war. Without a political solution, a military victory would only provide a temporary reprieve from the violence. The peace would only stand as long as we were there...
When would be a good time to pull the troops out if not now?
I agree that we should'nt be policing their country & I know that extremists are waging war on us because we occupy their "holy" territory. We have had major security gains in Iraq but governing Bedouin people is improbable because they are so ideologically driven. The existence of a secular state is very unlikely unless the political process finds a unifying principle. If this war wasn't so damn expensive I'd say stay longer but after watching movies like Zeitgeist, I don't know what to think.
I din't think your security in Iraq has improvec much. When Saddam was removed you ended up with a fundamentalist Islamic government instead of a secular government.
Oddly enough he got executed for having the same people shot who are shooting at your troops now. There is no stability in an occupied country.
Crap, nobody from Canada wants to invade Montana. We are all to busy invading Florida and California.
