This was really appaling, to us and this should teach us something. We should all learn that no matter what happens, we always remember the good memories and stay strong.
What really got to me is when Paulie says he miss his Adrian, he misses his sister. Deep down he really loved Adrian, but he could never show it and now he regrets it because it's too late.
i think it was masterfull and gutsy desition by Sly to kill the Adrian character... it created such a huge aura around the memory of her... it turned Adrian into the most important thing not only Rocky`s life but also in Paulie`s... in the last movie you could see and feel that without her everything felt empty...
Honestly I always tought Paulie was the driving force behind Rocky especiallly after Mickey died I can see why Rocky kept him as a friend even a crazy friend like him he was a good addition to the movie serie imo
Definately should of been in the movie this scene, music is unbelieable as well. Thank you Bill Conti. Always cry when watching this deleted scene. Big Stallone and Rocky fan. Would love to run up those steps...................
Apparently , at last Sylvester thought , well the movies is very sad itself , i dont wanna really depress too much the audence i dont wanna make this a drama all the time, every scene . But this scene is , omg why dont put in?
I know" :( thats where my tears start, they dont end after that.
Man thats tough, wow!this scene is just Amazing!you get sad but you get happy by the end, they give each other hope, its just a shame they made it a deleted scene :(
Why on earth was this scene deleted? Apparantly it was too cut down time but surely they could of cut out one of the scenes with the pointless character that is marie out. Deleting this scene was disrepectful to Burt Young, hes breath taking here.
@roberthugill5 completely right; i just watched the movie; and Paulie is just perceived as an angry old man... and this scene shows the other part of a support character during the whole Rocky series. And yep, Marie is like a bad copy of Adrian during the fight..indeed a shame this part was deleted
@ChrisC11291980 In the film world, you have to be willing to delete your favorite scene. It is a strange thing but it happens in all films. Its a writers/filmmakers rule.
@Santana2163 I know, it is confusing, but in film school and even in the highest levels of film, it is a known rule. It even carries over to screenplay. Sometime its time constraints other times it just does not fit into the budget. I don't know the reasons for all, but I do know it is a film rule.
@LTG22 Yep - you guys are dead right. It is a known film rule and even has a name or two - "killing your babies" or "killing your darlings". As I understand it (from a screenwriting POV) it is a way to make all of the other scenes you write that much better - so if you kill your best scene, you force yourself to make the others great - that is how I understand it anyhow and just sharing. Great scene here - thanks for posting it!!
thank you for agreeing and understanding, seeing the hidden message behind the man...our trials make us who we eventually become in our walk through life...we do what we do because that's who we are and what we believe in our heart
It's cool that this movie series spanned so long cause it just adds to the whole effect of showing these guys as they actually were 35 years ago... and how they've aged... 35 years FFS! DAMN.
this scene is awesome i agree with anyone that said who's the moron that left this scene out as it is touching like real life friends you stay with forever and never leaves you :)
13 people either have no heart or no emotions..... this scene is genius and in my opinion should have made the movie..... this scene touched my heart :'(.... rocky is my favorite movie series ever
the character of Rocky Balboa is an inspiration to the average joe, like most of us are, we all can relate to him in one way or another...he is real, like life is real, he never gives up no matter what the circumstance or the odds against him, he he may not win the first time but he gets his shit together, and finishes his way. he decides when it's over, not anyone else! he symbolizes the fighter in us all! you are all heart Rock!
@livfreediempty Believe it or not, the character of Rocky Balboa was actually based on a real person. And while this person never received the recognition from Sylvester or the studios, that's exactly it! A man that kept taking the hits in life, but kept moving forward :)
@thatwasfunnyhuh Only the story from the first movie was inspired by the Chuck Wepner-Muhammad Ali fight. Wepner never beat Ali in a rematch, never fought a steroid-powered soviet, and never beat up Tommy Morrison on the street, lol.
@thatwasfunnyhuh It was based on himself and not any one other person in particular. He got the name from boxer Rocky Marciano and inspiration from Chuck Wepner whoo knocked down Ali.
great choice of location. I feel they cut this scene out because todays audience would have laughed at Paulie, he let it go maybe a bit too much, you could imagine kids sniggering at this, though it could have been cut down a bit.
When you think of it threw the entire history of the rocky movies, Paulie was a jerk and bitter and anger, but with all the trainers Rocky had from 3 to here Paulie was always in his corner. This shows that threw all the anger and bitterness Paulie show'd on the outside underneath it all he had a heart. This should've been in the movie. I cried after watching it.
its sad how we only feel so emotional at a very old age. When we are young we dont feel like that. I guess its memories that make us feel. You dont have much of them at young age.
Oh shit. This is amazing. Thank you, Mr. Stallone, for all this awesome entertainment. Your courage and commitment in getting the first film made is pure Rocky Balboa.
Wow....i ran out of tissues crying so much. I am a HUGE Rocky Fan because his movies are so inspiring and endearing. In so many ways, many of us can relate to the lives and journey of the characters. It just tugs at your heart. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this clip. :)
Man I wish they kept it in. Its tough for men of past generations to open up and let themselves break down. I know my dad is like that and for guys of my generation, we're sort of inbetween the two. Where you have to hold it together then in the 90's & 2000s it became ok to cry. Thanks for the upload.
I am moved by this, It really makes you think, treat your loved ones right, because you never know if you'll ever see them again again or get to say you love them one last time.
