  • Okay, I went outside began the Atlatl project. I have now to find time the the editing part. Haven't tried it because I need to build the dart.

    As I've lost my Mora n°164, I've ordered a new one for the Kuksa (hard to find here). But i've gathered a nice piece of birch for it.

  • I don't have a tree around me big enough to build the cup..maybe i will find some thing else to do if i can find like some fire wood to practice the technique....maybe ill do something related to my area for you guys. maybe how to make a bow drill with this one type of yucca tree that grows around here.

    Its called a Woomera (spear-thrower)

    It works exactly the same as the Atlati.

  • the challenge is a good one but i have no handy cam. i can do stills and make a slide show if that would be expedient........oddly it was on my mind to make a Kuska ..........

  • You can take many images of the progression of the project, and still make a nice video.

  • Aha, we call it a "kåsa" (pronounced "cosa"), nice challenge!

  • Usually we see it as Kuksa.

  • That's why I didn't find it, thought it was spelt "cooksa".
