@Zhranzagul i looked at that video you showed. it may be very good, but someone who doesn't know much danish would have a problem. it had english subtitles, but that's not as good as having a voice in english. by the way, this show that you labeled as american crap was a canadian show, and many of the voices in it are canadian. it can be very tough to tell the difference between the u.s. and canada. i grew up a few miles from canada, and it seems pretty much the same on both sides.

Back then nobody took comicbooks seriously (and they don't today either but aren't as vocal about it) so producing cartoons based on the comics was usually a rush job to earn a quick buck from kids, who generally aren't that picky as long as their hero appears in it and saves the day in every episode.

Also, since the cartoons often were made by somebody that had absolutely nothing to do with Marvel, they took certain liberties and changed as they pleased. Happens today too.

Actually Batman was very different from time to time in the history of the comicbook. The original Batman in the 40's often killed the villains by throwing them down rooftops and similar things.

As for the 60's Adam West tv series. It was made intentionally campy and for kids. Adults watched it only to get a good laugh from all the over-the-top hilarious jokes and absurd Batman gadgets. Surely you don't think they made the show as a serious one? The jokes are quite clever...

Also you should know that as the original Batman comicbook readers reached adult age less and less Batman comic were sold. In the 50's it sold badly indeed and at the start of the 60's DC considered killing off the character and stop selling Barman comics. Then the tv show happened which was directed towards a new generaiton of kids and suddenly the sales of Batman comics increased several times. Thus if not for the 60's campy series Batman wouldn't be around today at all.

Also the 60's show introduced the Batcave and the Batmobile (which previously had just been regular cars with some bat emblem on them) into the Batman legacy.

In the 70's Batman popularity vaned again, and it wasn't until the late 80's and the Frank Miller version that Batman got a new revival, then they made the Tim Burton movie in 1989.

Batman has gone through several changes, and wasn't always the one we see today. The 90's cartoon went back to the roots of the character.

@McLarenMercedes Actually the Batman comic's popularity went down when the Adam West series went off the air by the end of the 60's, it's popularity was revived during the 70's when Denny O' Neil and Neal Adams brought Batman back to his roots and made Batman relevant (not to mention DC Comics) to that era.

IMHO if not for Denny O' Neil and Neal Adams, Joe Kubert, Berni Wrightsen and others DC Comics would have likely gone under by the mid 70's, Marvel was killing them saleswise.
