  • ผมดูแล้วน้ำตาไหลครับ ทุกคนในทีมมีความศรัธทาในตัวโคชมาก T T

  • If you look at 1:07 its obvious at the buzzer he still has the ball in his hands!

  • downright humbling and I'm a tough one and I cry

  • Im a firefighter myself, and ill be completely honest i cry every time i watch this. Rest in Peace Capt. You were an amazing person.

  • IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to take 2 dribble and still have time to shoot in under 2 seconds

  • And to add on to my comment, I should've mentioned not to go off the horn you heard in the video. But you'll see that even the light is on before the release of the shot. Again, right call, right outcome.

  • AJ Green (Georgia WR) was on that roster... does anyone know where I can find the full roster and their schedule from the 07-08 season?

  • I was at this game and I was sitting right behind the goal he made the ball in and it was good the refs blew it..this is a great story and you feel good for Summerville but I'm sorry the shot should of counted and Spartanburg should have won you can say all u want about the 2 dribbles and shoot thing but he really got it off believe me I was there and I saw it all

  • @tigerfan252525 Evedently the shot wasn't good if the refs said it wasn't. It would of been good if it wouldn't of bobbled around in the basket when it hit the rim. but you should leave your negative comments to yourself.

  • @vballsballgirl It actually doesn't matter how the ball went in. Just look at Patrick Sparks' game tying shot against Michigan State in the Elite Eight in 2005. But what made the shot not count was that the ball didn't leave the Spartanburg player's hands before the horn. It took me a good couple of minutes to see if the ref's decision was the right one, and it was. I paused it at just the right spot to see it, and the ball was clearly still in his hands. It was the right call, right outcome.

  • @lhsbandfreak11 Well year i know thats what I also meant to put in my comment. But I mean it's amazing that it went in and all but everyone is saying that the shot was no good because of the back story and all.

  • the shot should have counted the refs blew the call

  • the shot should have counted the refs blew the ball

  • ebonygentleman79 my msn in profile! OTL: Charleston, SC Firefighter Basketball Coach (Pt. 2)

  • y wud the refs even call it good in the 1st place. the 1st time i saw this i thought they only reversed it because of the back story. but yea it was def in his hands still

  • What moves in basketball may make me grow taller ?

  • Guys, i have tried everything and found some

useful ways to grow taller. Email me.

  • i recommend this anyone who wants to grow taller

"Helpo Growth Formula " search in google....

  • its such a sad story that the other team doesnt understand. their thinking, "Man they shoundn't have one". If only they knew.

  • @connmarsh22

if only they knew? the other team won the game and they were robbed. i cried when i saw this on espn way back when, but still that was an emotionally based decision to HAND the game to summerville. total BULLSHIT

  • i cried... absolutely inspiring story... this is a must watch video before you die.

  • Great Story.. OMG i lved it. (is that AJ Green from georgia???)

  • @BIGGBEEFY yeah A.J. played football and basketball at summerville.

  • they could seriously make this whole story into a major movie...

  • ebonygentleman79, dam son that is OD. That's coming from someone who s the shortest on his team but finish alley dunks. I followed the training program at 50 inch vertical (dot) com and increased over 12 inches on my jump.

OTL: Charleston, SC Firefighter Basketball Coach (Pt. 2)

  • Yeah, takes 2.7 seconds.

  • you are exactly right, you CANNOT rebound a ball, take 2 dribbles, then shoot in 1.7 seconds!

  • yeah i don't think you can dribble the ball twice and shoot in 1.7 seconds, what a great story

  • Wow... sounds like you are the loser here junior

  • You can tell in the higher clarity videos of this that the ball is still in his hand when the red lights on the backboard go on.

  • But, there was only 1.7 seconds left. There isn't enough time to take two dribbles off the rim and then take a heave. The clock musta got started late to even make it that close.

  • What an amazing story of victory and defeat, but most importantly how a team of young people can bring a city together as one. Wow! What a story! If you are a true fan of basketball this is a must see!

  • this was the first time in summerville that a sport other than football was the talk of the town. r.i.p. coach we'll never forget you.

  • After this game they had a photo in the Spartanburg Herald journal that showed the ball was clearly out of his hand with like .02 secs left... touching story but Spartanburg got robbed

  • this shit is fuckin hilarious

not about the coach thats fucked up

but just how just like that the other team wins

    lmaoooooo

  • WOW, that would make one hell of a movie. Its such an incredible story. RIP Captain Mulkey

  • If you pause it at end of :48 beggining of :49 you can see that ball is still on his finger tips when red lights are on it is a good call, and a great story

  • this is the first youtube video that made me cry

  • R.I.P. Louis Mulkey

  • Was it lost on everyone that maybe the other team was destined to win. Is it possible someone on the other team had a mother that died of cancer, or lost a brother in a car accident, etc? The refs just decided that the Green team should win and that was that, wiping out a truly great finish and a miracle? shot.

  • Comment removed

  • These are most likely rhetorical questions, but anything is possible. Who knows what the discussion between the refs went like. I know I don't. So it's kind of ignorant to suggest they gave Summerville the win just b/c their coach had passed. That is unless you have some kind of intimate knowledge of the conversation that took place.

  • The narrator makes a error. It does not matter if the ball beats the buzzer or not. The main thing was the ball out of his hand before the clock hit 0:00. I not going review this shot. The refs should of said that the ball was still touching the players hand when the clock went 0:00. Which means no shot. The important thing that it is a great story.

  • I had tears in my eyes when it first played

  • wow im not an emotional person at all but i definately had tears to whipe away a couple of times on this one

  • I am a firefighter myself and so this video really hits home for me. God bless every one of those guys and every other firefighter who gave their lives in the line of duty. This team in particular realled deserved that win. God bless them.

  • God bless Louis Mulkey and the Charleston 9. Rest in Peace brothers.

  • thats incredible...you gatta feel happy for those kids and that town...awesome

  • This is why I LOVE SPORTS.

  • It doesn't matter what kind of mood you are in when you begin to watch this. You can't help but feel happy for that team, that town and that high school. It's good to see a team that really deserved to win it all actually pull it off

    R.I.P. Louis Mulkey

  • With so many friends and family in the fire department its a scary thought when they go into a fire because anything can happen. This group of guys deserved this more then anyone probably can fathom.

    R.I.P Louis Mulkey

  • Like Milkey's wife said, most you us and you guys main not know it now, but that game was more than just any game. Its truly was a life lesson. Even if you think it should have counted the lesson both the losers and winners learn from that lesson is one know one will ever for get. Look beyound the general conclussions of a win or loss.

  • I saw this the 1st time at home for lunch during school and I just cried, I was so happy for the school. Everytime it just brings chills down my spine, things do happen for a reason! WOW, so so powerful!!!

  • Incredible story, I could watch it over and over. The coach was a hero that was lucky enough to work two of the most rewarding jobs there are. By the way, for those of you that want to get technical.......#32 did not travel....and, the light around the backboard is an indication that time has run out. Watch for the light to come on just before he releases the ball, its VERY close!!!! Glad I wasn't the ref!!!

  • this is my school! Go GreenWave! We love you coach Mulkey!

  • by the way the guy made the shot before time ran out but he took 3 steps before shooting, and thats called traveling

  • Wow. Nobody could even script something like that.

  • Once again, thanks to everyone for taking the time to watch!

Be sure to thank a soldier, fireman and policeman this Christmas season!

  • yes i had to look this up, i saw this on EPSN it is a very sad story, and just know that this story touched people all over the world, i am a navy man serving in a foreign port. it really meant alot to me!!! thank you for posting

  • Thank you for serving us proud. I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season!

  • Yeah, most OTL stories aren't that great, but man, I made sure to save this one so my lil' bro could watch it too.

Easily the best story in sports.

  • same here

  • man this is the first outside the lines story that gave me tears

    great story

  • look it up where?

  • I agree. Nice story but Spartanburg kids have stories to tell always. They were robbed. Summerville lost the game.

  • mulkey made them win that game mulkey is the REASON they won the game

  • What a great story.

  • I dont know either way, but its possible that the refs maybe didnt signal either way after the shot went in, and then went and discussed it.

Good or not, it still is a really great story

  • i graduated from Summerville in 1988, i played B-Ball for them for 3 years, and it it was so nice to hear that they won that state championship especially after the tragedy with the coach. it has always been about the Football program at S'ville but the basketball team can say now they are Champs!!! Go Greenwave!

  • wow...i got chills bad after the ref waived off the shot

  • not to be disrespectful, my uncle is a firefighter so i know how this could feel for people, but how do you think the kid who made the shot feels, his team didn't even get the win

  • this is my school! Go GreenWave! We love you coach Mulkey!

  • this is the most inspirational story. rip charleston 9.

  • My God! What in the world can you say to that. God Bless the Firefighters! Give comfort to those family members that lost their loved ones.

  • God Bless you Louis and the other 8 brothers that died 1 year ago today. Never forget the Charleston 9!!

  • This is amazing story, and will touch anyone who see's this clip. My tears and my heart go out to the players and family of Luis Mulkey.

  • dude touching it made me cry trust me i do not cry often.

  • i cry watching this vidio!!!

  • Very touching story. This is bigger than any championship game or trophy. One day, the other team will realize the right decision was made whether the shot beat the buzzer or not.

  • Watching this video truly is amazing... It effected me more then I knew... Such a awesome story... My husband is a firefighter and I thank those men and women everyday who put their lives on the line to save ours.

  • I'm from S'ville and literally his spirit's with the school there. I heard that Disney's talking about making a movie. Just a rumor I heard, though.

  • Of course this'll be made into a movie someday. This story is pretty much exactly what they would be looking for out of a movie.

Not that it's a bad thing of course. This video almost got me in tears, and it takes a lot for me to do that.

  • i went by the sofa super store the next day it was terrible :[

  • wow !! thank you so much for this amazing story

  • Great sports story about teamwork, struggle, dedication, tears of sadness, then tears of joy..rest in peace Louis Mulkey

  • Wow....not only does this do something inside being a firefighter and hearing his final words to his wife, but the countless lives that this man touched is just amazing and beyone words....now brother, your work is done, may you rest in peace and protect us all everytime we answer the call to help so many others. Thank you for sharing this video....brought tears to my eyes.

  • You're quite welcome. Please keep serving us all proud!

  • Great story!!!

    God Bless the Charleston 9!

  • INSPIRATIONAL!!!!!!!!!!

  • my dad died 4 months ago and he was in the hospital for 2 weeks i left the hospital 1 time it was to go to a playoff game i hit 2 free throws to put us up by 1 with 2.2 seconds to go, they called a timeout inbounded it and a kid hit a fade away 3 at half court to end it...

  • shhh

  • i got six thumbs down... am i that hated?

  • God Bless Louis Mulkey and his family, great ending to a tragic story.

  • IF you didn't cry while watching this you are seriously inhumane...this is one of the best sports story all around...god bless them all

  • Definately a great story...but i have to say the refs did it for Mulkey...

  • this is deffinatley the best sports story in all of history

  • Im sitting at the firehouse with tears in my eyes. We have a prayer called the "Firefighters prayer" and it ends

....I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me, to guard my neighbor and protect his property. And if according to your will I have to lose my life, God bless with your protecting hand my family and my wife.

I know in this case, it's his Summerville family and his wife. We pray for them and and all 9 familes in Charleston as well. Thank you for posting this video.

  • That prayer is simply awesome. Thank you for sharing that. God Bless, and may He keep you on every trip from the firehouse.

  • "NRF1710"...you couldnt have said it any better..that prayer sits on my locker and I look at it everytime the tones drop for us....your words as well filled my eyes with tears cause in this case it truly hits home with our brothers case here with his wife and all the lives he touched.

    Please be safe everyone....

  • Thank you for making the daily sacrifice when those tones ring. We appreciate it.

  • Truly inspiring and emotional story. You simply have to feel good for those guys and the fire fighter's wife. Never did I picture myself crying in front of my TV watching SportsCenter but that's what happened. Awesome production and awesome story!

  • If you slow down video to about 4:14-13 left, ball is still in shooters hands, backboard is lit.

  • plenty of people were there that say that...but it all came down to the refs opinions and that's what counts. deep inside i know that most of those people believe that they made the right call, however, those people are just not summerville fans

  • What a story. Kudos to ESPN for sharing it.

  • Thank you for sharing your experiences with the rest of us about him. God Bless.

  • I saw this on espn and couldn't help it but to ball my eyes out!!! great story and even better ending! no doubt, those kids won that game... i don't care who you are, jordan couldn't rebound the ball take two dribbles and launch a 60 footer in 1.7 sec... great story!!!

  • The classiest documentary I have ever seen! With everything that is happening in the world, how can't this bring tears to your eyes, and bring hope and joy to communities! God Bless all those firefighters who gave there life to keep us safe!

  • I must commend ESPN for telling a story of loss and emotion with so much class and ethics. This was one of the most touching stories I have ever seen. I don't really care if the shot was off in time, the story is the man, the coach, and the firefighter, and how he touched so many lives while dedicated to public service.

    FTM Everyone goes home.

  • i heard the same story about a teacher who led his soccer youth team to the final game and was killed the day before the match. It happend in Al Kut, Irak, is that touching too or is it just news???

  • WOW! That's a story I had tears in my eyes when he said tell his wife he loved her then for the kids to win the game all I have to say is WOW! As a fellow Firefighter I can't say how much this story touched me.

  • FN WOW!!!!!!!!God Bless THem all

  • its burning in my house, but this video sends chills down my spine. this is just amazing. there is no way there is no god and heaven, because louis helped those kids, and he never let them down. he couldnt help them as a coach, but he helped them.

that shot totally didnt count 1.7 to rebound and take two dribbles?? i looked at it it for sure didnt count. i feel bad for that kid though, but those kids deserved it.

  • Yep, I agree Mr. Mulkey help his kids out. It gives you some hope.

  • i cried when i saw this on espn yesterday

  • I was close to tears, but I was more astonished than anything else.

  • beautiful

  • oh my god, i'm seriously speechless.

  • Great story..Deserves to be made a movie of...

  • Yeah it was sad we in charleston miss him so much

  • And the rest of us who didn't know him sympathize with you. But this story is his lasting legacy. God Bless.

  • this story is amazing. louis mulkey seemed like a great man.

  • amazing story. made me teary eyed

  • This is such a great story but I think 32 on the other team got the shot off in time. Damn can U imagine if it was the other way around?

  • Kickass story.

  • WOW OMG THE GREATEST STORY OF ALL TIME

  • I watched it in HD, and it looks like he got it off in time by just a millisecond. There's a freeze frame I got of it just out of his hand as the red surrounds the board. I'm not so sure the officials got that one right. Maybe...

  • where's part 1 at?

  • I just attached it as a vid response.
