  • @Bazolathebold Innnnnnnndeeeeeeeeeed!!!

  • Terrific.

  • Rickydfcc77

    I simply love this..thank you.

Can you do one of your specials on the Velvelettes songs - Lonely Lonely Girl Am I and Bird In The Hand?

  • @theboyfromxtown Hello, and thanks for your comment(s). The Motown songs that I extended were part of a Karaoke package by "The Singing Machine" that supplied both original vocals and instrumentals on the discs. They have since ceased production and sadly "Needle in a Haystack" was the only Velvelettes song included. I am always looking for Motown Instrumentals and accapellas from the 1960's to give a 1970's treatment , however.

  • @rickydfcc77

Motown also put out the Velvelettes song "He Was Really Saying Something" in that series. Do you have this?

Somebody on a music thread suggesting that using

  • The poster for the Battle of the Stars has been cut at the bottom. The Velvelettes always notice that.....on the bil on the same night there was a guest act...the Miracles

Little did the ladies know that not only Smokey, but Mr Gordy himself was in the audience. Norma noticed them together and told the other ladies during the performance.

  • ...........so you better take heed.....and listen to me....you better play hard to get...or you're gonna regret.... the day you were born girll..when he leaves you alone girl..good guys are liking finding a (needle in a haystack).....oh girls, its like finding a (needle in a haystack)...you better listen to me girls

  • owwwwww

  • still look n sound great......rock on girls.

  • Needle and Saying Something were their hits..... can't you hear the Motown? HA .... I think the competition and nepotism was a bit too much and the were pushed out of the spotlight before they got in it good.

  • I really like this! Never heard of the Velvelettes, but they're pretty good! Thanks for sharing!

  • @Rowoches See there is other music in the world besides Gospel. It's okay bud, you won't be damned to hell LOL.... j/k

  • @Mongo76: LOL! I listen to more than Gospel, however, Gospel is the vast majority of all I've posted onto YouTube. But when you hear about female groups, names that are frequently mentioned include The Supremes, The Vandellas, Shirelles, Dixie Cups, and a few others. I'm thankful for YouTube, b/c I've learned of several groups that should've received MUCH more recognition! Thanks!

  • @Rowoches Yeah you are right. There is a rich history of music available to discover on you tube. i love it....

  • @Rowoches -The Honey Bees also sang this. Can someone post this ?

  • Nicely done, thanks for posting

  • I love the section 2:00 - 2:10. I keep playing that. That is Norma doing the last "Yeah" at 2:16

  • I so love this mix. and I'm playing it every day...Thank you

Any chance of you trying out another Velvelettes tune, like Lonely Lonely Girl Am I please. No one has attempted it yet. The 45 has more punch but give me those strings from the stereo version. Note that the Anthology version has the less common alternative lead vocal; it is the well known version that needs to carry

    the track. Here's hoping......

You can be sure that I will get the ladies to hear it themselves.

  • I love this....it's fab.

....You better play hard to get

    Or you're gonna regret it

The day you were born girl
