why does he look old with puffy face when he's only 24 yrs old?? he could easily be mistaken for 44 yrs old there

Well, people in this time, dressed very classic and have no difference with an old dress person with a young dress, and it´s hard to distingue....Well, the record colour wasn´t the best too, and everything helps, cause I have some pictures in this tim from him and they have much better quality and they are coloured.... :D

As he got older it was more difficult to control the lasers, even in this vid, I can only imagine the gamma radiation we cannot see beaming from his eyes.

Actually, Roy wasn't new at all in 1960. He first came to prominence in the 1957 with the Sun Records release of 'Ooby Dooby'. He charted again on Monument in 1959 with 'Uptown' and 'Only The Lonely'.

Wonderful, but so sad what Roy had to go through when he was kid, like his eyesight and jaundice.

Easily one of the best singers ever. Too bad he didn't have "movie star looks" otherwise he would have been HUGE all over the world. Sad that our society puts so much emphasis on looks. Oh well, I'm still a fan and always will be. :)

No Roy was not blind, however he could hardly see without his glasses, I only know this because it runs in my family. Roy was my cousin. I good man he was indeed and bless with ann amazing voice

Yeah he had an astigmatism problem, not blind hehe...for that he used all the time dark and very strong glasses.

This must have been made when he had the onsight of blindness.

Eyes look weird. The sunglasses helped mask the later stages of blindness he developed.

@SkidRowJosephine Roy wasnt blind, he had bad eye sight, he wore dark glasses cause he left his clear pair on a plain in 1963 when he was touring with the beatles, he had pictures of him taken and sent around the world with his sun shades on and he was stuck with that image, but he wasnt blind

The greatest singer ever as far as I concerned. Roy was a shy and gracious man that suffered so many heartbreaks in his life that maybe he died of a broken heart. I sure do miss this giant of a man.

Roy didn´t used their glasses, because someone told to him to use....he used because he have problems with his vision, so he needed to wera a strong glasses to correct his chronic astigmatism.

@txranger24 The other one many fans have always wanted to see was Uptown....only seen it once, so weird seeing him without glasses, but it would change cause of some pictures in 1963 and a mistake he made leaving an airplane leaving his clear pair behind.
