@anisdalger The "no compulsion" verse was an early verse, before he held power in Mecca. The verses that came after power were progressively more violent and coercive, and muslim scholars have traditionally held the view that later verses abrogate the earlier ones, if there is any contradiction.
That's why markets, mosques, police stations and schools are blown up by muslim terrorists in places like Pakistan and Iraq - they think they're following koran. You never see any other religions do that

@anisdalger The koran wasn't compiled until long after Muhumads death. Individual suras were recorded on leaves, bark, bones etc. Google mecca vs medina surahs and you will see. Muhumad was illiterate and never wrote anything down himself. But there are clear distinctions in style and attitudes between the verses written in Mecca, and after the flight to Medina.

Mashallah. Brothers and sisters instead of arguing about the quran and sunnah. I would advise to read the quran from beginning to the end with the tafseer. You will see that the quran states how a person should live thier life and how a person can attain the mercy of Allah. There is no point comming on here and swearing at one another. Is this a piece of cloth that was propped up and then every idiot claimed that it is now alive and praying. I see the same miracle with pork shoulder and ham meat. I buy from a store and I put it on the floor. It's a miracle! It is standing up and praying. I now believe this is the greatest religion. I convert now. I also eat the pork or ham meat that I placed on the floor.
