It is better to be content with life then to be concerned with how can I get more and more till you run yourself ragged where you are so tired that you can't enjoy what you do have. I worry over the bills because my husband is at that content stage because he doesn't want to even know what bills we have. A very long time ago my husband was in charge of the checkbook and he was almost driving himself insane because he was overly worried over the bills. I guess it is my turn. :P
I agree about being content with what you have. I don't need a bigger house, in fact I would be happy with a smaller home and such. Content with our job, etc. Some people just aren't content -- always wanting more. I don't understand that!
It looks like a very nice park. I'm glad they ran the drug dealers out. I liked your chat about being happy and content without having everything. I raised my son that way, and he's really very good at living a simple life. He does like his DVDs, though! lol I love my DVDs too. Anyway, I know what you're saying. Take care, and don't freeze.
Awww look at the pretty snowman lol, and what fun people are having playing in it! Happy that your job seems to be coming along great. Your so right, if you have everything what is there to look forward too? Having everything doesn't guarantee you happiness whatsoever. Have a lovely week!
I think contentment is something that each and every one of us is capable of cultivating... I was quite unhappy deep-down for much of my life because there were things that I didn't have even though I had much. Contentment slowly crept up on me as I advanced into middle age. I think what helped a lot, ironically, is the current poor economy which has made me see that more would be nice, but it's not essential. I have everything I need, and now if I had less I would still be happy.
I do not envy the rich and famous. I think they are unhappy actually. I agree being content is what it's all about. Like Paul said.. he learned to be content in all circumstances. I believe there is something to that. Hugs dear DC. I enjoyed the walk with you.
Being content is a much better way to live. If you're not that way no matter what you have you're not happy. If you're content no matter what you get you are happy.
We have a park such as the one you are showing and talking about. It use to be a great place to go. They have cleaned it up, and have a 2 patrolmen there in the evenings. Kids are playing there again. But everyone wants to know where the undesirables went to. Run them out of one place and they usually just move to a new place. Have a great weekend.
It is interesting, isn't it, that when we put too much focus on pleasure and material things, all we see is we want more. It's never enough.

We have had no snow here that stayed on the ground anyway.
Yes I agree , we need goals. Seems like people that do not have a lot of things seem happy. They are happy with life.
