What's so strange? He was acknowledging the presence of Allan Toussaint, who was listening on the side of the stage. Allen is one of New Orleans greatest musical gifts to the world...
Do you think artists are supposed to formally announce the song before playing it, and say nothing else? Huh....
As you see, the event was pretty casual (an outdoor festival), and as you can tell from the girl singing along, most S.D. fans not only know the NAME of the song, but the lyrics, too!
