Actually the titanic was sank on purpose. There were a bunch of wealthy bankers on board who had the power to prevent the formation of the federal reserve and a bank monopoly . This was a way to execute them.Thats why the women and the children wre allowed to leave. I'll find the video and post it.
The press originally gathered to film the incoming Titanic as it entered the harbor. Instead, they ended up filming the Carpathia bringing home the survivors. As far as i know, there are only 3 films of the Titanic.
"When anyone asks me how I can best describe my experience in nearly forty years at sea, I merely say, uneventful. Of course there have been winter gales, and storms and fog and the like. But in all my experience, I have never been in any accident or any sort worth speaking about. I have seen but one vessel in distress in all my years at sea. I never saw a wreck and never have been wrecked nor was I ever in any predicament that threatened to end in disaster of any sort."
There were several accounts of premonitions by passengers and families before the ship even sailed. Blame the ignorance of mankind. At the time over exceeding lifeboats was not necessary for luxury liners. It just wasn't common for such disasters to take place, therefore they denied the possible.
hey dnt blame him he dnt no he was going to die that night plus he dnt think that anything was going to happen he made a mistake leave him alone, he did the right thing he went down with the ship!
Captain Smith and Thomas Andrew made a good choice. They didn't leave their ship of dreams. When I will design a ship, and it will sink I will be go down with it to. Rest in peace Captain Smith, and sorry for the Titanic that didn't reach New York. :'C
Captain Smith may have been found not guilty of causing the collision in 1912 but nowadays the concensus of opinion is that he was 100% responsible because he did not give the order to slow down or even stop (like some ships in the area) despite numerous iceburg warnings. It was gross neglect of duty and his statue in `honerable` memory of him is an insult to those who died at his hand.
but in those times, some ships did drive into the darkness without a worry, nowadays we would'nt, it would be common sence, anyway Smith was under pressure from Ismay.
@MrAnders12345 By the same token I think Bruce Ismay was equally responsible for the ship's sinking. The nautical rules were in place and he kept pushing the envelope. Their inability to properly govern that vessel cost over 1500 lives. Only Mr. Ismay displayed the cowardice to board a life boat.
@94MaverickGT No there is a massive assurance fraud here read Titanic the ship that never sank by Robin GardinerThe owner of the ship JP MORGAN an american who owned imm owned harland and wolfe and he was putting together the steel cartel known as big steel they were going to use Titanic for carrying arms and troops to uk for ww1 which was imminent they swapped ships read the book regards
In my view Captain Smith was totally responsible for the sinking. As captain he allowed the ship to travel far too fast through an iceburg region which he new about after recieving numerous hand delivered telegraph warnings.
Also, he was responsible for ignoring more than half empty lifeboats being lowered.
yes, but did you know in 1912, it was standard practise to travel at high speed through an ice field as to get through it as quickly as possible. Also, in the final verdict after the investigation, it was deemed that captain smith was seen as a hero - hence the statue to his legacy at a park in england.
Yes there were film cameras in 1912 (film was invented in 1892). Yes, that is the real Carpathia and those are real films of the crew and survivors. The films of the "Titanic" however, whch were shown at the beginning, are actually films of her sister ship the Olympic.
I often wonder if we still had Liners today with mondern advances if this would or could still happen. WE are often lax about air travel which proved to be fatal on 9/11.......and we were helpless still...
i am NOT beeing weard or enything but titanic 1517 died ages ago i am not ssaying it is not a terable thing it is but people have been going on about it foe ages but millions of people die in wars arnt they human dieing just like them?

It was a great disaster and one that all should have survived from. This changed the laws so all boats had to carry lifeboats for all. The full story is quite harrowing. For all that lost their lives. God Bless.
For the survivors, it must have been so difficult to have gone on.
They had tons of time , but not enought boats, if the Calfornia had answered the flares all would have been saved. They had around 2 hrs, plenty of time.
erm no mate. They didn't even manage to launch all their lifeboats as it was. Plus you need good seaman for each of these boats, which there wouldn't have been enough of.
They did have enough lifeboats that was the point and the first launch was under the impression that they were coming back, thats why they were only if even half full. They were under the belief the titanic was a life boat in its self, all very sad mistakes all souls could have been saved, good seamen or not. they only needed 2 per boat. There was enough men on boart to accomadate that. In an emergency anything goes. Fact was it was not equiped properly.
The problem was, they all thought they were coming back on to the titanic, thats why the women got on in the sleep wear.
They didnt need crew to look after the boats, some experienced women too charge of their own boats. There was no water or bread lights put on most of the boats as they believed they were coming back in an hour or so. It was a shambles and not because of the crew or lack off.
takes 90mins in rehearsal, there was no panic on the boat. Two men per boat to row, infact some were women as most of the boats were all women. Reality was, some bad decisions made. Not that they ran out of time.
well you say that they into the lifeboats under the impression they would return. That's true and that explains why some of the lifeboats were empty. It doesn't explain why some of the lifeboats were not launched though.
well naturally they can't launch them straight away. There are procedures, the ship had to port round the iceberg, and close all the water tight doors. Carpenter had to sound the ship and the damage had to be assessed. They then had to get all the passengers on deck and uncover the lifeboats and prepare them to be launched.
Riiight... Cause it's not like it's lying down there 2.5 miles under the ocean surface with a big gash in it's starboard side. Or like there were witness reports of ice on deck after the collision...
There's also a rumor that an Egyptian sarcophagus was on board with a curse on it. As well as one that it was really the Olympic that was sank on purpose, in order to get tax benefits they could not truthfully get on Olympic, due to it's prier damage.
These rumors have been disproved. It's just a way for humanity to place blame in something supernatural or say it didn't really happen at all. That way one doesn't have to fact the horrid reality that 1500 people went to their deaths that night.

nono, not u i ment about that badboy, look what he said man I told my great grandfather died on that boat and his comment was my ass look down :( im glad you posted this video i believe it's real
wow, I read a book about the Titanic wich was called, Titanic Crossing, and the main characters name was Albert! He did make it in the book! Did he make it in real life?
According to the encyclopedia-titanica, Albert Victor Pearcey helped lead groups of third class passengers up to the boat deck and survived the sinking in Collapsible boat C. He also testified at the British Inquiry into the sinking.
My great grandfather and his brother was on the Titanic. He didnt stay on it too long though, he got off at Cobh when it came back to Ireland. He was actually heading for America, but he couldn't stand the crew members. He said that they were very rude and ignorant so he decided to come back home.
i think it is the real titanic well it says it is but i'm not 2 sure tho and iunno if theres a real love story on the real boat but there is for the movie titanic
There are always love stories going on. But the one they used in the movie was not real. Also that is bot the real titanic' the real titanic had 4 Smoke stacks and only 2 flagpoles. i know. i have brothers.
cry cry cry! Im sorry that some people died! Cry cry cry cry cry cry cry! But some people cursed it by saying it wont sink! Cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry cry! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Actually, it was the press that started that. They never said it was "Unsinkable." An article advertising the water tight doors and compartments made it "PRACTICALLY Unsinkable."People just assumed that practically unsinkable was just as good as unsinkable. But it was never even once stated as being "unsinkable" by anyone who worked on or owned the ship itself. And it did not even gain the reputation of being unsinkable until after it sank. Also, a 'curse' isn't what sank it. Just human error.
Who here wishes we could undo time and some how stop the Titanic from sinking?

yea no kidding
the smart thing to do was to stop and wait til morning and then continue on to new york,
everyone was soo obsessed about thinking that the ship was unsinkable that they Ignoranly ignored the Ice warning and growler's,
and tyhey were going at to high a speed to stop a ship that long and heavy,
And with that small of rudder to be able to turn anyway,
what a sad thing!

no guy,

Ismay had no regard for the passengers or others,

It struck the iceberg at 20 minutes before midnight on 14 April 1912 and sank two hours and 40 minutes later. The Unsinkable Sank.
The crew consisted of 913 persons
Tons of time, what they lacked was correct information.
CASPER10666 2 years ago
Not enough time as it was - like i said they didn't manage to launch all the lifeboats.
I said good seamen - not all of that crew would've made good seamen.

erm they didn't have enough lifeboats, the point is, even if they did, they wouldn't have been able to launch them all.

there wasn't enough time. Theoritically, there might've been, but in reality there wasn't, and we're dealing with the reality here.
You need crew to lower the boats who are familiar with the davits on Titanic.
BoneHomer 2 years ago
takes 90mins in rehearsal, there was no panic on the boat. Two men per boat to row, infact some were women as most of the boats were all women. Reality was, some bad decisions made. Not that they ran out of time.

BoneHomer 2 years ago
We will just have to agree to disagree,
CASPER10666 2 years ago
well you say that they into the lifeboats under the impression they would return. That's true and that explains why some of the lifeboats were empty. It doesn't explain why some of the lifeboats were not launched though.
BoneHomer 2 years ago
Because they delayed the launching of the 1st boat - no7 until an hour after they hit the ice. Bad decisions.
Titianic carried 20 lifeboats, enough for 1178 people.
CASPER10666 2 years ago
well naturally they can't launch them straight away. There are procedures, the ship had to port round the iceberg, and close all the water tight doors.

Everything that happend on the Titanic is just so sad. =(
I love how they made the movie, letting you fall in love with the characters, so that when Rose lost Jack, you could feel her pain. =(
I have a beatiful heart shaped music box that when ever I open it, it plays this song.
I adore it, and my dad gave it to me when I Was a baby. =)
