  • Thanks for the instruction :)

  • do not use non leaded solder? uh, been using non lead silver solder for years..

on the bus tab.. LOL use a flux pen and no solder is needed :-)

  • @Me102288 Unfortunately to save cost I am using less than pristine cells. Some have been previously soldered and then disassembled. There is a bit of loss but worth the cost difference. My suggestion is to use the leaded variety on the back of cells that were previously assembled. Once that thin layer of tin is gone The cell is indeed lost forever and the cell is worthless scrap. Could have been clearer on that but in this situation leaded solder is foolproof non lead is a headache.

  • @rlbob1 still doesnt matter, if you use flux and tab wire, it will suck the tin in to make a good contact with very little heat required..

I solder the blocking diode with silver solder. lead is poisonous.

  • Ummm....

The cell wattage should be 1.75 watts each, not 175 watt each as stated

  • @vanhook2 oops sorry thats 1.75 watts 3.5 amps per 36 cell cluster and a total of 10.5 amps per 108 cell panel. Unfortunately this is what happens when you have to use a spokesperson (my daughter) and only give her 5 minutes of instruction. Thanks for the correction

    bob

  • @vanhook2 lol double take.. 175 watts a cell? wtf is this 1.8 watt crap I'm getting..... :-)

  • Excellent job of explaining the details.
