I played lots of games myself (incl. FPS), and I've seen gruesome videos and images, but this is still shocking to me.
The thing is... you can tell yourself it's "just a game", but the brain doesn't work that way subconsciously. These aren't 2d sprites with clunky game physics. It looks very real (though digital).
Better to use a game as outlet, but still worrisome that there even needs to be this kind of outlet. Society shows children violence, and children copy that and get accustomed to it.
@godvergeten Oh, the good old "videogame is evil" mantra. Only the videogames are cause of every bad thing ony the Earth, even the earthquakes and tsunamis, right? oh, And everything is all right with the lying and intimidating news broadcasts.
@funkyoulol2 Nope. The whole of society is messed up. These games are a logical result. But the media are mostly responsible for programming things into the subconscious mind that result in suffering caused by humans. And it all feeds off of each other. You can only question: when are people going to ask themselves, whether something is actually useful or destructive. And if one deliberately chooses to create destructive things, what is the reason for it? Because nothing goes without logic.
I don't get it so your allowed to shoot innocent people in Afghanistan or Iraq or what country but people start to bitch when a game like this comes out?
People play games like this because they would never do this in real life!!
It's like watching a movie but then your the lead character, oh yeah if you wanna know i didn't shoot the innocent people because you play a double agent who infiltrated in a terrorist group to find the leader.....
what I dont understand is why shepperd chose alan for this mission, he was an army ranger. it would have made more sence to use a trained undercover agent from the CIA. I know shepperds actual intentions but come on.

If you don't know the storyline of the game, this might seem a little offensive(Yes the game has a storyline)... and this part is about betrayal

To be fair, there's no penalty for not shooting them. It's your decision.
