  • If we keep sending our boys overseas to get shot up, the women in this country may have to learn to share for real.

The measuring stick I always use to determine whether something is good or bad is to ask the question, what if everybody did it?

  • I am not a polygamist, but to me it seems as natural as regular marriage. marriages itself is a social construction and the fact that certain forms of marriages are labeled wrong is ridiculous. if you want to have two wives, what's wrong with that. if that's how you choose to live that should be your right as long as you're not hurting anyone else. Individual Liberty!!! it's not just a phrase you can use to make yourself seem more tolerate and open minded, you actually have to abide by it.

  • everybody its a tv show calm down if you dont like it dont watch it thats whats so great about cable there are thousands of channels so you can change it when something you dont like is on

  • In the Bible, the heir of Cain is the 1st polygamist. He is also a murderer. Unlike Cain, he is not ashamed of his murder but boasts of it. This is the point of the story. Polygamy is about the shameless selfish indulgence of our passions. As I said, polygamy is a stand in for homosexuality in HBO. Ironically, it is a tacit admission that their are abuses in homosexual culture. It is NOT that there are abuses, it is abusive intrinsically, it only leads to suffering.

  • @VictorLepanto Because heterosexual culture has no abuses or abusers of course. Also, great use of bible reference btw. You were right to stick up for poor Rachel and Leah who had to put up with the shameless indulgences of polygamy.

  • @ThePassion81: That there are OTHER forms of abuse doesn't mean that an abuse is not still an abuse. As for Rachel Leah, it is ultimately their father who pushs theme into polygamy. Jacob is tricked into the practice. It is noteworthy that men like Warren Jeffs push girls into this lifestyle as way of advancing their own power w/int their sects. Women become bargaining chips, commodities to be used in political wealing & dealing. This is the reality which lies behind polygamy.

  • @VictorLepanto The point--you have missed it. Abusers are heterosexual, Joe is heterosexual therefore Joe is an abuser is as fallacious argument as your statement that all homosexuals are abusers. And tricked? Jacob may have been "tricked" into marrying Leah but he CHOOSE to enter into a polygamous second marriage with Rachel. No one held a gun to his head forcing him marry Rachel as well or to have sex (and children) with both of them. Make all the excuses you like to reason out his sin.

  • @ThePassion81: I am not saying homosexuals are abusive. I am saying that homosexual acts are AN abuse. THEY are intrinsically disordered. Anyone who perpetrates them is abusing himself & whoever he uses to practice them. A homosexual, whatever that means b/c sexuality is rarely that simple, is not abusive simply by being a homosexual. A mere taste for disordered behavior, so long as you don't act on it, is not sinful. It is like an alcoholic who has remained sober for 30yrs.

  • @VictorLepanto ...closet-case....

  • I remember watching this season on the edge of my seat and I just lost it during this scene. Wrong or right, it's still incredibly brave.

  • haha the wives are dressed in red, white and blue

  • @freebrook Ahhh... the benefits of polygamy! ; )

  • Such a powerful scene! I love it!

  • so.... did nikki make it to first wife? I had to let go of HBO.

  • nikki looks so good. i cant wait till season 4 comes out on dvd so i can finally watch it.

  • Come on victor.. Don't act like homosexuality is new... Don't show your bible thumping cousin humping trailer park living mullet wearing monster truck enthusiasm ways

  • @carlitos20udg: Who said anything about anything being "new?" For that matter, it is you who has brought up the Bible. I love how some people, in denouncing what they imagine to be ignorant bigotry, reveal their own.

  • HBO are little better then pornographers. You see what is being done here w/ this show. Polygamy is a stand in for homosexuality. They made that clear in their 1st episode. The theme of homosexuality runs through this whole show. As it does through EVERYTHING that HBO produces. It was in the Sopranos. That show was meant as an attack on the traditonal family also.

  • @VictorLepanto Pull the stick out of your ass.

  • don't like it? don't watch it, and don't buy from their sponsors. that's capitalism.

  • @VictorLepanto probably the point is that Mormons are so dead-set against letting gays live their lives as they see fit without political interference by Mormon machinery (manhours and money) that it's ironic some of their own feel cast out for having "non-traditional families." Que Ironico.

  • @1000huzzahs: We are all @ liberty to act on our private vices, so long as they remain that, private. To demand that our private vices be given public acknowledgement, @ great public expense, is not a matter of tolerance, it is a demand for approval. Your private vices are your business, don't expect the rest of society to stand by applauding. W/in reasonable limits you can make a wreck of your life as you see fit. Just live the rest of us out of it.

  • i couldnt even describe what i was feeling when i saw this. it was amazing. i love Big Love!

  • This show was great watching the family hidding the polygamy lifestyle to the public and that's why next season going to suck so hard

  • is this the last scene?

  • Yes, season finale.

  • Wow! When is season 5?

  • I love this scence, can't wait to the season 5.
