  • Train sur pneus en caoutchouc?? QUOI S'AGIT-IL?? Où poster la prochaine station? Pourquoi est-il tellement sale dans le métro? J'ai honte d'être à Paris et tous les Français!

  • My wife and I traveled Paris in June of 2011 to visit her sister. It was the best vacation I have ever been on. It was also my first time on a subway (we live in Kansas City, Missouri and have no underground transit), and I loved the experience. We got really good using the subway system and used it to visit all of the sites in and around Paris. We WILL be back again.....I love Paris! Cheers from the U.S.

  • Do they run on tyres?

  • @MrBJC1996 Some lines do, you can tell by the sound they make, a sort of swishy sound like a road sweeper!

  • @SHHE001 it makes things less confusing, as then you are less likely to board the wrong train. Of course, you could cross the tracks and board the other train anyways, but that's less likely to happen.

  • Why Paris has two platforms, one platform per direction??? Why not only one platform with one track on this side and one track on the other side???

  • @SHHE001 The London Underground is the same & there can be many reasons why things got built that way, some of it's to do with being on viaducts or wanting to keep the track straight for speed reasons or other space constraints.

  • @SHHE001 some stations have one platform, another have tow platforms with four tracks and very few one have just one platform and one track, you have to change of station to go in the other direction :)

    I'm sure there is a reason ;)

  • Paris was the best time of my life. I have a great interest in different types of subway and metro systems. This is the first time I have seen tyres on a train. I love France more so than my own country too.

  • @Mutleytech Well hopefully you'll get to go back!

  • I went to Paris to one month ago. I came from Japan. I glad watch this video. I want to go to Paris again. But I was afraid to crime. I heard many exist crime on subway. But I felt good!!

  • @thetopno1 I think it is as safe as London's metro, a busy place attracts some crime sadly.

  • @TimBrown59 I see. Someday,I would like to go to London(´ω`) But I think very danger current London...lol

  • I went to Paris in summer holiday for only 4 days. They were the best 4 days of my life. I am from Germany and I love France more than I love my own country. One day I will come to Paris again- my parents don't want to come again, cause they were there many times. I Love France- Greetings from your neighbours :D

  • @Arabeskascala Thanks, hopefully you can get to Paris by train at some point, it's fairly easy for us to do it from the UK.

  • @TimBrown59 ok, no problem! greetings from santiago de Chile.

  • J'aime, cette vidéo :]

  • @Maartin23 Merci!

  • 3:34 sounds awkward, just that weird silence when the imposing doors slam shut and completely blots out all the noise.

  • @yabbaguy Yes that is how it was!

  • I rather London Underground but I needed to see this video, just to get back some great memories, as Im doing. Cheers!

  • @elicitaelanor Thanks & I do have some LUL videos!

  • For some reason I am quite captivated by this video. Love the sounds. Reminds me of my times in Paris. <3

  • @BonjourBit Thanks, I am glad I captured the essence so well, don't know why part 2 isn't as popular!

  • Louvre station is really cool

  • @Schlechten If I remember correctly, it looks like a museum with trains going through the middle of it.

  • @TimBrown59 yeah, that`s correct. If im not wrong it`s just like Syntagma or Akopoli station in Athens, if you know it. :)

  • @Schlechten Must admit I've never been there.

  • @TimBrown59 well my friend. Never is too late

  • 1:42 why is this guy so smiley? lmao

  • @flaviafrancesca Something tickled his fancy!

  • Franklin D. Roosevelt is one of my favourite stations in Paris. I love the Paris metro.

  • @acc84 I think that station is unique, I haven't seen another one like it.

  • I sure do miss London and Paris transportation. Wish I was there now. Instead of here. In Alabama. Goes without saying I guess. :-(((

  • @1000krhodes Surely Alabama has something going for it!

  • i ride this train in paris, the wierd thing is a train using wheels! LOL

  • @aryowailangitoyo97 Well most trains use wheels apart from Maglev, I guess.

I think you mean the tyres?

  • the first shot is right near the Eiffel tower right?

  • @kilgoretex09 Ah no, it is further to the east side of Paris, I'll try to work out the exact location on the map.

  • @kilgoretex09 I think it is looking east towards Barbes Rochechouart metro station in Boulevard de la Chapelle.

  • @kilgoretex09 isn't it just before arriving at pasteur on the line 6?

  • @magneau51 To be honest I can't remember now!

  • @kilgoretex09 @kilgoretex09 isn't it just before arriving at pasteur on the line 6?

  • Today I was STUFFED in the metro when I was coming home because of the snow and they where no buses running.

  • @Dmention8 Paris metro? Usually they're pretty good in winter.

I think London Underground haven't had too many problems apart from strikes recently!

  • @TimBrown59 They were no buses running so evreyone haded to take the metro.

  • I noticed how smooth the ride was on those things, and of course there was none of that squeaking noise like normal trains--which apparently was the reason they used the tires, so I've read. Despite this praise, I still don't like the 'look' of tires on a subway train.

  • @mbrown187 I believe it is quite expensive to maintain these trains, those tires get a lot of wear & tear.

  • @Dmention8 4:45 is line 4 no 11

  • @amazaley1 ok mistake, can it survive?

  • The sounds bring back great memories of Paris! Thanks for this video!

  • @amg4330 Thanks!

  • @amg4330 me too!

  • @85agapanthusgal Yes most metros have their distinctive features, Paris, London & Moscow are all very distinctive.

  • Nice video.

  • @Klingl3r Thank you!

  • One of the best systems on the planet! Boy do I miss Paris!!

  • @booya2012 I think what makes the Paris Metro the best system on the planet is the really tidy stations, you hardly see any litter spoiling any station throughout the system.

  • last year i was in paris , its really worth seeiing , special merto system they have there....

  • Yes it has a unique flavour to it!

  • It is good the metro, it is very unique because of the rubber tyred trains they run. And also the autmated line 14 and soon to develop on line 1 by 2012.

  • Apparently when Line 1 has completed automaticion, the MP 89s will be moved to Line 4.

  • I hope to try that out sometime!

  • @JoeRoss1993 You would be correct. I think Line 1 is supposed to be fully automated by the end of this year actually.

  • Really? RATP must be on a fast track then on the Line 1 automation project by under 2 years.

  • My favorite Paris metro train is the Mp 89, I liek their sound when they speed out of the station.

  • Nice!

  • u live in paris or u visit a lot there

  • Just visiting!

  • I was just in Paris in June and I LOVED the sound of the metro makes when the doors are closing... i miss that!

  • Yes it has a distinct smell as well!

  • It sort of has a distinct smell like the London underground.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Dans la vidéo, il y a plusieurs lignes. La 2, ...?

  • Chatelet 1 & 7, Gare de L'Est 4, Gare du Nord 5, Les Halles 4, Franklin D Roosevelt 1 & 9.

  • nice vid

  • Thanks

  • the interior of the train is like the interior of an S-Bahn (train in that runs in the Berlin area)

  • The trains at the beginning are articulated, no carriage end doors, you can walk right through the train.

  • like in a metro train in Berlin (u-bahn)... cool...

  • look at those rubber wheels. The metro must be really quiet.

  • Well it swishes like a road sweeper!

There's a smell of rubber as well.
