Yummy! I tried it 4 times in Ecuador and Peru and I prefer peruvian guinea pigs dishes. They have more dishes made with guinea pigs meat and it is more teasty.

Judging a culture on the types of animals that they traditionally consume is ridiculous and ethnocentric. What's the true difference from eating cows, pigs and chickens from guinea pigs, dogs, and cats? Meat is meat. Is it okay to eat animals that are less attractive? What is and isn't a pet is relative. I've owned livestock as pets and felt as attached as I would for a dog. Animals are animals. I'm a vegetarian and an anthropologist. You shouldn't judge a culture by your own.

lol i was jusg cursing and almost broke my laptop lol cause iw on a guinea pig and i want those lol........i mean when they where alive....i hold nothing against you lol i kust love guinea pigs.....and ifelt so sorry for those...im planning to own a pika.......and guinea pig and breed em i have 3 guinea pigs ineed a pika now i hate equador-.-cause they eat guine apigs!!!!lol.....im jk u just dnt like that cause their lovable try keeping one and ull never eat a guine apig again

I'm from Ecuador and I don't like CUY, I have no problem my fellow countrymen eating it, but personally I don't like it, I'd rather eat a hardy FRITADA CON PAPITAS Y AJI, with a PILSENER mmmm... good stuff.. :)

Cuy taste like lean rabbit, if you never had rabbit than think of chicken with a more gamy flavor. The only thing holding people back from eating cuy is the presentation. IF served in pieces nobody gives a dam about eating it.

and why pigs and chickens are?,the cuys are extrictly vegetarians,clean,they just eat frehs and clean food,no hormons,stress and colesterol,just proteins and they were domesticated many centuries in the andes,for the same people that give the potatos to the world .different culture and differents costumes.but you dont have to eat a cuy cause you love your pet,same as my mom loved his chicken.they are from the cavian family not the same asrats

i dont konw we also drink chica that prevines cancer,also many people of the andes dont suffer of cancer,diabets and other modern sicks,we have a very interesting diet,yes they are rodents but,the people that eats them dont suffer cancer at leats here in peru,the people that is more proclive to cancer usually eats too many pig and cow meat.anyway im going to send you a video of my countrie and foods,cause we have a lot dishes not just cuy.

i must admit that the cuy or guinea pig is my favorite dish since im from Peru. when i came to usa i couldnt believe that the cuy was treated as a pet!i had no idea. i dont think there is anything wrong in eating guinea pigs since its traditional n come from our culture but its sooo hard to find a peruvian restaurant with a guinea pig or cuy in the menu =( .

It depends, its easier if you live near populated areas and its more abundant during summer. I live in NY and have no problem finding in restaurants or in poultry shops during the summer

Why do people get all mad about eating a different type of ANIMAL. It's just an animal for crying out loud. PEOPLE die everyday in a nearly pointless war in Iraq and people are more concerned about a culture where people kill an animal that to the USA is no worse than eating a cow. I see no harm in this video and think anyone who flags this must not value human life much because they seem to care so much about eating that when they didn't really torture it in any vids I've seen.

i would go vegan but then id need more protein. and why couldnt u have just made a booklet on how to make this? and u killed a innocent guinea pig just to show how to cook guinea pigs. i would say it is really disguisting but i have refrained myself from that since it might be traditional. y would u eat a guinea pig when if u eat something else like a chicken u will get more meat or just go fucking vegan. no offense though about the chickens.
