  • you broke the snap sound again :D

  • My 17" MacBook Pro that about 1.5 years old hit the ground from a short distance yesterday. Now it makes a small snap noise right as it shuts. You can tell the lid is vaguely vaguely misaligned. Not sure its worth fixing. Still a fantastic laptop.

  • wow bastards you pay that much money for that to happen then send it out and get it back and still not fixed holy shit I would bitch at them so much

  • when i grow up i am gonna be so a technology geek like him

  • Thats what happens when you buy a Mac.

  • Macs suck, my sister's MacBook pro is nice but when you close it and push the screen down it littlerly dents

  • do a vid that shows ur face plz

  • srsly.. It won't stop -.-... Fuck!!!

  • Watching this video made my macbook do the same thing .......... I just tried out what he did, now it makes that annoying ''Click'' sound -.-' .. Don't do this Macbook users

  • LOL Has $1200 Laptop, First Words When Unboxing : I Hope I Dont Break The Table!

  • that would irk me as well, especially considering how much they cost

  • where the hindges stop right before the edge of laptop, the screen might be scraping against the bottom part.

  • i do screen repairs £15

  • thats why you don't get macbooks lol, their maintenance sucks. and they customer service is shit. pc ftw, but iphones on the other hand, is the greatest product apple has ever released.

  • You have to send it to them

  • Wait can you take it to an apple store or do

  • Apple is ridiculous with their repair costs. My brother brought in his 1st gen iPod touch b/c the home button was broken they wanted to charge him $200 to fix what they referred to as ancient. By fix they mean completely replace. I think anyone would be a fool to buy an Apple computer. What ought to be done is to sell un-programmed computers and let the customer choose the OS they want. You may love the way an Apple looks cosmetically but you prefer Windows OS.

  • I had this exact same problem.. didnt think it was a big deal until I saw my friends macbook pros didnt make this sound so i decided to bring it to the apple store and they took it and within like 2 days they called me and said they replaced the whole screen. good thing i still was under apple care cause it would of cost i think over $400

  • And I thought I was obsessive. It makes a clicking sound when you open it? So what! You open it 2 times per day. Just ignore it. You must live a very gentle, problem free life to focus so much on something so unimportant.

  • take better care of you macbook

  • Wow, apple, such high quality products, cough cough.

And such great after sales repair service too... I'm going to rush out tomorrow and get one.

  • for god sake change the hole screen with an other and change with it the cable that connects it with the motherboard

  • @simou2011 That has absolutely nothing to with the fact that the lcd makes the snapping noise. it is obviously two plastic materials getting caught somewhere. I have done screen replacements on several MacBooks. Before you make a comment like that imposing that you know more than AppleCare, think about your status first.

  • @simou2011 or change the hole macbook

  • that looks annoying. Just send it to me and ill make sure it never crosses your path again. Your welcome

  • i had a problem whit my ipod touch

and and they changged it and the same problem whit the new one

so its the third and lets see what happens

acctuly i give it to my sister and i buy an iphone :D

  • Mine did the same thing. they sort of fixed it. Im hoping it wont do that again soon.

  • It's not that big of a deal. Everyone freaks out about it. I've had macbooks and macbook pros. They aren't always perfect so be happy with what you have as long as the performance of computer is still what it should be.

  • they probably poured engine oil from one of their Chinese factories on the hinges of the mac, after all, its assembled in China.

  • Good "quality" Apple...

  • @TearsOfWar1 Wouldn't be any better at all with a PC.

  • @TheMacAppleMac NEVER had a problem with my custom built PC... So... Yeah, you're fucking wrong. had it for 4 years btw.

  • @TheMacAppleMac Show a video with a fucked up hinge from PC.

  • @TearsOfWar1 Congrats on posting 2 negative comments on my comment, and ill be glad to post a video of any shitty PC with a broken hinge, but...I'd prefer to die than make a video about a PC on my channel.

  • Do you still have this issue? I've had 2 13"s. Both have the issue

  • @arnolddisco He already fixed it :)

  • whats the update on this?

mine was making this noise, took it back to best buy and they said it was my fault ebcause i droped it. there is no dent or any damage to the exterior and they fucking accused me of it. im pissed that they pretty much called me a liar

had macbook onyl 3 weeks :(

  • @randomrazr I had my macbook 1 weeks and the loose keys were replaced with shiny "refurbished" keys which are also loose, by an authorised apple store. The quality control obviously sucks.

  • @ankitpasi1 did u get them replaced agaiN?

  • Yeah, nr. 1 customer statisfaction... Apple lies! AGAIN!

  • Packaging designed by Apple California

  • @cokefan3 "Apple in California" *** LOL JK! =P

  • @halo3snipingspree328

Your just jealous. Get over it

    selfish. Tsk tsk tsk..

  • just buying a windows pc u fuck

  • It Seems like everyone has that problem, maybe they are made like that like its supposed to.

  • looks like someone is making that nize 2:09 hahaha

  • Is the battery not user replaceable?

  • i have the same problem!! its so fucking annoying!!

  • i had the same problem too. i had it for like 3 weeks and it started snapping. now its like 1.8years old and the snapping eventually stopped but now the new problem is the hinges are getting loose.

  • i know somebody that had a SAME PROBLEM and it wasnt on apple so maybe some laptop does that snap!! ing sound

  • @yugakikuchi The point is macs are supposed to be perfect...all the time...and for how much you pay and suffer for a mac, it sure as fuck shouldn't do that. Besides, I'm sure that on another laptop you can actually fix it yourself. Anything on my laptop can be fixed by me.

  • lmaaoo everyones mac pro does that... relax bro its okay

  • @hereyesglowgreen Oh, is that another reason why Macs are better...fanboi

  • paranoid little bitch. get over it.

  • lol if i were you i'd put some lube on the hinges xD. like vaseline or something.

  • @jack390 Oh, like on your boyfriend's ass?

  • @MrDarcyzPP no like what i put on your mom's dick you fuking ignorant cunt...

  • i have the same problem! will they fix it if you dont have apple care?

  • Actually one of the most hilarious things i have ever seen. "Oh...are you serious..?"

  • i have an ipod touch 3g and i want to trade it for the new 4g model, and i bought it at target and they said to go to their website and check out how to do the exchange. but their website doesnt mention shit. i fuken hate target, because i have a 2year warranty with them and they dont want to do anything. they dont even want to give one of their own ipods for warranty.i have to go to an ipod store, to see if i can get a gift card or not.WTF!! can u help me please?

  • Mine is about 2.5 weeks old and started popping yesterday, it isnt loud, but very annoying. I hope it stops soon..this Macbook is way too expensive to be annoying

  • @bchewdown Don't worry, it will get way more annoying when you try to actually do some work on it.

  • I have a 15 inch macbook pro, same generation. Mine made a snapping noise, but not nearly as bad for awhile, and I ignored it. The other day while watching a movie, I moved the screen, and it made a very very bad noise. Now the display sits like 1/8th of an inch away on one side from the bottom, and every time I go to close the thing the display bends. I took it to the apple store the other day, and they told me they will replace the display free in less than a day! I really hope it works out!

  • dude! mine is starting to pop a little bit but not as loud as yours and it sucks! when i move the screen a little bit more than 90 degrees, it just quietly pops and it gets worse when its hotter. at first, i thought i would just ignore it and move on but its starting to piss me off and i wanna use my warranty before it expires. i might be paranoid but i expect perfection paying 2 grand for this! im going tomorrow to the apple store after i made an appointment on the phone today

  • do you think it would ever be possible for apple to just give you a new macbook pro since it never gets fixed properly?

that would be the most sensible thing for them if you have to continue bringing it back

  • That's a very large knife to be opening such a package.... By the way, after a period of time, all macbooks start making that sound. I taught in a school that had all Macs. The cheaper white ones make a sound like plastic rubbing on plastic. The principal got a brand new 17 inch macbook pro and out of the box it made that sound. Our tech ran into the same problem with the Apple people saying "it's just the hinges, it's not a big deal". $10,000 in computers and we get this? Awesome.

  • you're shacking the hinge of course its going to break

  • thats why you dont drop a laptop!

  • at 2:11 he's not even touching the screen but makes the noise.

    Strange 0_o

  • @Raidmaxer

The sound was just continuing because it continues occasionally, and why would someone make a fake video of a MacBook Pro being broken, that would just be weird.

  • Umm, hey I have some solutions,

    1) Give it back to them and tell them if they didn't fix it up you need another new one.

    2) Umm, Unscrew everything, and find the umm things that connects the laptop screen with the keyboard, and put some little oil by your finger, just try that.. Good luck! That happenes with me sometimes.. It happens with my cousin's laptop too. we do this, But be sure to remember to put every little piece you picked up. Let a professional to make it (:. Peace!

  • man i want a mac but spending up to 2500 on a macbook pro for it to do that just pisses me off. getting one used or off the street for a good price makes you less worried about hinges ticking. buy used/stolen macs, demand is what makes them so expensive.

  • well least you got it fixed finally. disappointing you had to send it back in multiple times considering Apple usually gets it fixed the right way the first time.

  • It moved fine when you opened/closed it, but when you wiggle it like that of course it's going to make noise. Just use your laptop, enjoy it. ;-)

  • yeah exactly 1199$ when you spend that much u wnt it to be perfect thats not paraoya that perfectionast

  • yeah exactly 1199$ when you spend that much u wnt it to be perfect

  • why did you have to go to the apple store? if you have a warranty (or extended warranty) they should send you a box to send your computer in and have it fixed... i sent mine in and got it back within 36 hours

  • applescare

  • so fake

  • @jonloveiphone no this happened to my moms computer its not fake

  • @jonloveiphone what do you mean so fake

  • @megatippmann well at one moment he stop pushing it but it still makes a clicking sound so fake ha i bet you it's he's friend in the back who is making that sound

  • Would they fix mine under warranty?! I bought it in february 2010 and it does this and also has a larger gap on the right hand side at the back than on the left. I haven't dropped it, would it be covered?! It is like my pride and joy and I am gutted that it is somehow broken?! Please help, should I go to apple and complain?!

  • common problem

but it's the end of the world get use to it

  • I had the same problem, but for some reason it just stopped. AND ITS NOT FAKE !!

  • fake

  • But yeah, that sucks! I really hope my MBP doesn't run into that issue in the future.

  • aww thats a shame "/

  • it looks like my food door

  • ure lame

  • LOL

  • actually that sound is from the hinges, they're tight and will eventually loosen up. When you bitch to Apple about and they re tighten the screws in the hinges then you get this effect, they're prolly over tightened

  • Mac sucks.Get a windows

  • @rickrollman129 other way round mate ;-)

  • @rickrollman129 haha this is one of those minor hardware defects that he just happened to run into. I'm sure there are tons of more cases like this w/ the cheap PC hardware that companies are selling.

  • its soo funny the way you say: are u serious.. sound so disappointed..

  • I decided to see if mine made that sound when I moved my macbook pro like you did yours. I didn't at first, but now it does. FUCK!

  • hahah i did the same thing, luckily it didn't make that noise..

  • you have a £715.00 Apple macbook on a cheapy wooden table and you stick a knife in the box and say "i hope i dont break the table!" Jesus!!!

  • were the fuck did you get £715 from

  • mine does it too! i have the 13 inch! i have never noticed it before. My hinges are loosening up though. design flaw!!!

  • Another thing is that when owning a mac, the slightest imperfection ruins everything.

  • You hope you don't break the table? Jesus.

Apple are artist. They make something sexy, and don't give a shit if you have any problems. But that hasn't stopped me from buying three macs.

I've shipped out one iPod touch and one MacBook pro and they both came back with the same problem I sent them to California and back to Michigan for. It pisses me off.

  • Snap. What a happy sound. snap is the happiest sound I've found. You'll be clap, rap, tap, slap but snap makes the world go round

    Rice Crispies Jingle

  • dude i got the same problem ,

trust me , i ve been through the same thing you tried to do.

i realign the whole hinge in the service centre, and still it does click.

the only solution was just to change the whole lcd panel with the attached hinge.

  • dude i had the same issue with my mbp 13". luckily i noticed it within a week of purchase and got an exchange. Its not normal to have the hinges sound liek that. Apples quality control isnt as gud as it use to be..the noise issue use to annoy me..i didnt wana be picky buh when u pay alot of a premium laptop u want premium quality!

  • Dude, it's fine. The hinge locks (thats the snap) and 90 degrees. It's to avoid problems of the earlier Unibody's. (like mine, where the screen wobbles all over and eventually brakes, due to it not locking at that)

  • I think it's quite funny that youtube puts in an add for Windows 7 on this Video

  • WOW, i just got my macbook pro back from repair and the sound does not work at all and they downgraded to leopard and they did not replace my battery that has 1 minute battery life and had 47 cycles.

  • I'd never pay that much for basically a netbook...

  • dude the reason why its makeing that snap is because ure moving it side to side when u flip up the screen which is causing that noise.. just lift up the screen easily and not press up so hard...

  • talk about mac protection..especially after seeing all that foam in the box

  • u know why it broke coz of the fucking way u open the dam thing so dont bitch about it its your own problem and thats why no one else has had it happen 2 them coz they open it like a normal person

  • @TFDgohan that cud be a reason lol

  • @swaggalikeriz well ya lol if he opens it like that then gd i hope it keeps braking on him

  • Your a dumb ass, he opened it like that to check if t was still broke. Idiot

  • @Glib2O and your a RUDE YouTube TROLL but there we go

  • apple is nothing like windows or stupid pcs

    APPLe is way better

  • so you are shippnig away a $1000+ laptop because when you move it back and forth quickly it makes a noise? wow that is paranoid...I can see if its loose or broken but that is pretty stupid

  • it happens pretty much every time you move it.

  • im just assuming its because your moving it back and forth, like a door sqeeking when you open and close it quickly. I personally dont think its worth sending it back for, although it is alot better then before, i dont think its worth trying to make it perfect

  • @JordanRuffles its tru about the fact that its not much a of a big deal and sendin git back would just be pointless, but then again to an extend apple will do anything to provide a satisfactory to their customer, and if u have tried to get a unit repaired and they coudelnt fully repair it, they sometimes offer customers to get somin from the apple store with the value of the product of which is having the problem.

  • i would too.... anything new shouldnt do this

  • @halo3snipingspree328 When you spend 1400 dollars on a computer and earn the money yourself, you tend to get pretty pissed off when things break.

  • @halo3snipingspree328 when you pay that much for a premium product you shit like that is annoying... i had the same issue and sent it in

  • @halo3snipingspree328 yea if u buy a 1000 computer it shouldnt do that, so shut ur windows ass up

  • @halo3snipingspree328 It's a freaking expensive computer! You aren't getting very good specs for the price in a MacBook Pro, so Apple HAS to make up for it with perfection. They still aren't worth the price, even if they didn't have problems...

  • @halo3snipingspree328

Your thinking about it the wrong way, after spending $1000+ you should have a notebook that meets a simply standard. "This" is not stupid but what is stupid is how you used the word paranoid. :/

  • @halo3snipingspree328 You are a moron. First, it's actually up to him what he does. Second, what's he supposed to do, wait another facking week? Moron.

  • Tweet a few times about it - and tell apple you're going to set the dumb thing on fire for a youtube video. Worked for me and my HP Mini the hdd died in. Fixed in 1 week and for a fraction of cost it would have been from here in Thailand. Apple's listening at tweets... seriously - get some satisfaction - it's your money and time.

  • its making that noise because you moving the screen up and down quikly. it shouldnt be a problem because wen will you ever lift the screen up like that.

  • omg i saw your face!!!!

  • Apple is expensive, your buying a brand name, not a quality product, and really poor service.

Go with a PC, over 90% of the Earth's population uses a PC, and thats because they are HALF the price than a Mac and don't have snapping sounds!

  • you wish all my dells had nothing but problems bought a macbook no problems shut the fuck up

  • Probably because you downloaded some dodgy file and wreaked it...

  • Dude!! get a PC!!! Windows 7 ROCKS!!!

  • An apple is also a pc....

  • An Apple is NOT a PC! - It can emulate Windows, but it is totally the opposite from a PC!

  • Apple (MACINTOSH) and Windows are operation systems for pcs, PC stands for personal computer. So a pc can either be a MAC, a Windows, Linux, ...

Conclusion: Windows is not the same as PC, Windows is an OS for a PC like MAC is.

  • Apple like to mention specifically that a Mac is different from a PC, have you not seen the Mac VS PC ad's, you know the ones with two people etc...

Conclusion: Apple state a Mac is totally the opposite from a PC, so therefore it is. and FYI, it's impossible to get an Apple OS running on a PC unless you modify Apple's source doe, which is illegal, or use an emulator

  • i would like to give kudos to the awesome camera person : )

  • mac = big waste of money

  • dude u can get a brand new one.... call apple care an bitch about it......

  • Ugh! If I were you, I would be soooo mad! =P

I have had the same problem with my old laptop...

And I don't want to worry you more, you probably would've guessed this by now, but I have a feeling that if it keeps doing that, it might not be able to stay open... =/

  • HAHAHAHA Apple has failed you :P

I fell sorry though hope you can fix it

  • Man I feel sorry for you I haven't even expirienced that problem your haveing

  • Does the plastic at the back push in on yours?

  • WD-40

  • fake! you can hear someone pressing hard on a keyboard to make the snappy sound.

  • trust me, its not fake... i made a video before on this...

  • @huskermania i second that, it's definitly NOT fake.

the same thing is happening with mine, but i don't know what to do. this vid helped SO much, thanks :)

but one question, approximately, how long did it take to get the laptop repaired??

  • its not fake, i have this problem too

  • dude he's tapping something it's not the hinges that are making the noise. the sound is coming not even close to the pattern of which the he's moving it

  • yes it's the hinges. Trust me. Apple even agreed with me.

  • oil them up ;)

  • @guppylover88 Mine does the exact same thing...

  • this is y i build my own PC thank you. have both iPC, liniux and Windows 7 installed workiing in harmony. and i dont have oudated hardware :D. no offense dude, but this is just one of the reasons why i dont like apple. sry still love ur vids though!!!!!!

  • Great vid, I've always wondered what it's like to get repaired stuff back from apple. Sucks that it still snaps though. I say request a new computer altogether!

  • Sell it on EBAY and use the profits to buy a better computer. Like my HP! It's amazing!!!

  • Lol good idea.

  • @xXxbagOfun93xXx hp's rock!! But I'm both a Mac & a pc. :)

  • That's what you get from best customer satisfaction with the highest failure rate. HELLO PC, I'M A PC AND MY HINGES DONT MAKE A SNAPPING NOISE!

  • lol ur reaction to the snap was priceless any way i hope ur comp gets fixed good video

  • wow...really? u sent it in and they said they fixed it but its still broken???? wow....they lied to you...pretty lame.

  • Failed..... :'(

  • apple is a fail, pc ftw!!

  • PC WIN

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • half the money you paid for repairs went into foam...lol jking

  • fail at 0:42 lol

  • apple = overpriced bullshit.

  • Agreed

  • the best customer satisfaction INDEED!!!

  • lol Apple FAIL!

  • apple is great with warranties

  • My macbook does the EXACT same thing only the sound comes from the right corner hinge. It's done it for a long time (I GOT it, brand new last september but it started during the summer) and I never took it in because they say it's "nothing"

  • i repaired my acer aspire 4520 for the 12th time and the same problem occurs. now i repair it myself and it worked :D

  • You should fucking BITCH SMACK those retards. Non-computer-fixing motherfuckers.

  • Bet they didn't check it well =/

  • apple fails =/ on computer side of things anyway =/
