The ideal release angle for a 3 pointer is 48 degrees, and most NBA shooters are so consistent, they should within 3 degrees of the launch angle every time. Accuracy improves the closer you can release the ball on a level plain, that's parallel to the rim. You need to consistently time your shooting mechanics perfectly if you want the ideal shot. NBA shooters release the ball at the apex of their jump almost everytime
