Wow, amazing video! I gotta say though that 4'' of rain in 5 minutes would mean that you're house experienced the most intense 5 minute rainfall ever recorded in human history - by a long shot. The current record is from Panama in 1911, when it rained 2.5 inches in 5 mins. If it were to rain even more than 4'' per hour then that would be an unbelievably rare event for any location.
@StormChaserMax: Did you see this video of mine? "Oct 5th 2010 Freak Storm." This is after the storm and in a few hours it is gone and back to clear skys. That lake in the video is our park. Not sure it is a proper rain gauge but the 5 gallon buckets that did not get blow over had around 4" of rain in them. I think the news gave at an official rain fall later that next day, I do not recall what it was.
WOW! I live in Cave Creek and was scrambling to get me cars in the garage, but we never got the hail. Thank God cause it looks really bad from your video! Did it damage your vehicle? I know there are lots of claim calls to Geico and Allstate today! I have a buddy in the vergin islands and asked about his car...I told him it was totled and all the glass was gone, LOL.
@Kaistie We only got the small hail stones (Pea Size). so no dings our dents. My VW Baja - See AzBaja.com or AzBaja here on youtube was not at the house at the time and so I do not know if My Green Baja has any dents or if it was missed by the storm. I will be at the shop to check out the baja this friday.
