Winters is the greatest hero of WW2, probably the greatest of all time. People talk about Horatio Nelson, Julius Caesar or Mark Clark. These guys were great, but none compare with Major Winters and Easy Company.

I met Major Winters and most of the surviving members of Easy Company. I met Guarnere. I've been to Frank Perconte's home a few times and pop a couple of beers. He was at my son's school. What an amazing time.

i am old enough to have had the honor of becoming friends of a lot guys from WWII..they never spoke of any of the things they had to deal with..some are still alive, but most are now gone..it seems like we had a different type of person back then..i miss them
