Yes. Rika actually graduated before the next single was recorded. But Mari had to leave MM because pictures were taken where she was with a boy, and they can't have boyfriends while they're in HELLO! Project. So they made her leave the group.

They're not allowed to have boyfriends, but I was wrong about saying that it was for all the HELLO! Project, I think that only refers to groups like MM, where the girls get into very young. So I think it's kind of policy. I mean, according to what I know, there are girls in H!P who have boyfriends, but not in MM. So if you are adult and get a boyfriend, you can keep working in H!P, but not in Morning Musume. The same happened to Miki Fujimoto. She had to leave the group.

Yes, I think it's the same for those groups, too. But, actually, I would say it more like "they made the girls quit" instead of "they fired the girls". Because when it's found out that they have boyfriends, they either leave the boy or leave the group, so the girls choose. As for Miki, she was very lucky, 'cause she decided to leave MM, but she continued in H!P and she actually married the guy in 2009 =D. However, poor Mari, she left MM, and the guy later, too, I think...

I don't see it that way in this case. Because, I mean, the girls get into MM being very young (Suzuki Kanon, from 9th generation, is only 12), so they still depend on their parents. I think the best thing Tsunku could've done was forbidding them to have boyfriends, so they focus on their work, and so he doesn't have problems with their parents. And he made it a kind of policy, so even the oldest members can't. But look, both Miki and Mari are back in Dream Morning Musume XD.

Instead of a policy about dating, they should have a policy requiring that the minor be living with a parent or guardian until she turns 20, or until the contract expires (whichever comes first).

But, Mari and Miki are adult women, and they were punished for that. No matter what apologist spin some fans put on it, UFA's actions were reprehensible.

Nacchi was on a talk show saying they were forbidden to even talk to boys... even when they performed with boy groups like SMAP ... no talking, no exchanging phone numbers ... expressly forbidden. Know who Magibon is? As an american she refused to put up with such total control. Told she was not allowed to talk to friends in other agencies, she told them to shove it. They tried to blackball her.

Oh! And Makoto one; "enkyori nante muri na". And let's see, Ai is singing all most all the time. Two chorus and much more parts. Nice isn't it? I'm tired of this! The reason Tsunku gives most of the lines to girls like Ai and Reina is because of marketing decisions. He knows that no matter how many lines he gives to the other girls like Sayumi or Eri, they will never be as popular as the main girls. Therefore he gives all the lines to them to strengthen their image since they participate more in other Hello!Project groups.
