I miss the classic Sesame Street, Reading Rainbow, and Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. They were an important part of my childhood. Growing up in the 80s, meant I got to see all the good children's shows and a lot of the good cartoons. Now they don't have crap on TV for the kids, its like they're trying to dumb down the children of America it seems.

@skeeterb2006 OMG I completely agree. I loved those shows. This is one reason kids today are so messed up. I mean yes kids were depressed back in the 80's and 90's but it didn't seem like as big of a problem as it does now. If you were a kid and you felt sad because of being bullied at school you could turn Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles GI Joe and you would actually start *gasp* feel better. Shows in the 80's and 90's had POSITIVE messages.

@skeeterb2006 Now television program's goal seem to make the darkest most uncomfortable situations funny. If people want society to change they need to completely overhaul television and movies. They need to go back to the carefree feeling of the 80's and 90's and give something we actually need HOPE. Big Bad Beetleborgs, most of Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon with rugrats, hey arnold, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, freakazoid, reading rainbow, animaniacs, sailor moon, little bear, zaboomafu, gargoyles. And much more. It was truly a special decade.
