Anyone surprised that Esfandiari folds Q3s for $11,400 more to play for a $34,200 with the button in front of him? I know that PA's raise represents a good hand a lot more so than Dwan's original raise...but if you're getting 3 to 1 it seems like you have to call with the button. Otherwise why do you call the $3k in the first place.
@mrt110883 Queen high with 3 kicker... He needs a pretty lucky flop. He called $3k on the button against Dwan, Antonious 3 betting out of the small blind represents a serious hand. Suited cards doesn't mean much if it's not an ace for 3 to 1 on his mnoney against two of the most aggressive players in the world. He was right to just get out of the way, wasn't worth it. 3 to 1 on his money to call in that situation doesn't make any sense with the hand he had.
I thought every would have noticed the under lying theme of this bluff. But you guys are fighting over trivial stuff, so let me spell it for you. This was the last hand of the evening and tom dwan was a big winner in that game. Definitely he would not want to loose a big pot in the last hand. So patrick picked up on this and bluffed him.
Completely wrong. That's just not durrrr's mindset. Regarding a number of interviews he gave and the way he plays in general, it's more than obvious that it's all about the EV for him. He will do what he thinks is the most profitable move in any given situation.
@bibbbydybabbbydyboo so what would you say about table image then? durrrr makes moves like raising preflop with garbage hands all the time. obviously, there can be positive EV situations on later streets if he thinks he has a good spot to bluff, but when the moment when he raises preflop, it's a negative EV situation. pretty sure he mainly does it to keep his range wide and his opponents guessing. when you throw image into the mix, it gets more complicated because that is over the long-term.
Durrrr obviously has a big enough postflop edge over any of the "TV Pros" as well as most of the online regs to make raising any two suited cards, calling gappers+ IP, etc. more than justifyable. Plus it's on the TV so he might as well show off some skills, on top of that, yes, everyone he plays against on a regular basis will know about the broadcasted hands and it's definately profitable to appear to have a wider preflop range than you actually have when ur in a regular 6max.
this is a easy bluff here. Its more of a novice bluff then a really good bluff. Since antonius re raised and dwan just called then dwan can never have ace king in his range and antonius can. If the king dind't come on the turn antonius would of not bet. But since it did and thats not in dwans range he can raise big on the turn. not a great bluff just a typical bluff that a decent regular will do.
@fliptthescript ur forgetting that dwan is capable of calling with bottom pair and he's done that before. what makes you think he'll fold JJ this easily unless he was convinced antonius had a big hand?
@fliptthescript are you kidding? you 3bet with AK? Dwan could have a wide range of hands here - including AK. He could have 3bet JJ more often then AK. The only think you can really say is dwan has 2 cards. Dwan could be holding AA and be trapping. Or a suited weak ace and just call the turn. I think this is just a really good read by antonius and nothing else. He may have a tell on dwan.
@fliptthescript i mean i see what your saying that its a decent bluff that a regular would do, but this isnt 5-10 online vs a random donk. THIS IS HIGH STAKES POKER AND ANTONIUS BET 52K INTO TOM DWAN WHO READS SOULS. This was epic!!! and btw dwan could have a-k in his range there, since they are so deep it makes it more likely he would flat ak than 4 bet.

@immuntocrap2 The fact that Antonious knows the flop and turn are scare cards is what makes this bluff good. The fact that he 3 bets preflop, continues on flop and turn. Not the fact that Dwan folded JJ with Ace and King on board.
@jkcp1000 yes I see it, but the continuation bet by Antonius is telling Dwan he is beat with either an ace or a king...his jacks are no good after the BIG raise...as I said before...nice bluff (nice fold) ;)
@blitzrule The 3 bet preflop and continuation bets is what makes it a sick bluff. The title of the video is not Dwan makes standard fold. Its Anotnious makes sick bluff. That's the point of the good bluff. Patrick knew preflop that he could get Dwan off of his hand regardless of what hit the flop. Preflop, Patrick represented either a bigger pair than JJ, or represented a big Ace. Even if the flop and turn came rags, i believe Patrick would have gotten Dwan to fold.
Hear about reference codes? Not me until a week ago I made big buck from it with no sweat atall. Just typed the code FILM on fullTiltPoker and got $600 cash! Poker was new for me but now I understand it cuz was easy to understand.
Even the great durrr has some stuff that can be exploited in his game, Antonius on the other hand, well, I have no idea how anone actually beats him live and how durrr was able to online... Goes to show there is a difference between live and online
@lesliefrancs i know but it didnt work out well for him because he pretended to be weak that's why antonius thought he could bluff him but tom couldn't figure out if hereally had a hand or was bluffing because he was acting weak
