It violates my need to hear the person you are interviewing's feelings when you constantly ask them about what they think about another person's work or thinking who they are not even familiar with...
@cfcreative1 brainwashing? Please explain. I take it you are of the viewpoint that people suck and we should be realistic about our inherent selfish evil nature? Or maybe you think this is collectivist propaganda careful crafted to submit freewill to the state? Or maybe you just like being a gangsta and like superiority yourself. Please explain to us how this video can possibly be considered brainwashing?
I feel frustrated that the interviewer interrupted Marshall. I wanted to hear him finish his line of thought. I wonder if that woman wants to be taken care of by Marshall and has forgotten that there are other people involved in this interview.
@anutuk "I feel frustrated that the interviewer interrupted Marshall. I wanted to hear him finish his line of thought. "tell me the part where I interrupted and let me see if I can figure it out. Did you hear all of it?
@paulagloria Thank you for interviewing Marshall and sharing the interview with us. :) Thank you also for responding to me. The part I was referring to was 02:21, when Marshall was talking about what they teach. I appreciate that you might have been requesting clarification, but Marshall's was presenting something in a sort of chronological order, I was wanting to hear the point after "Don't judge yourself for thinking that way (with anger)." Best Wishes.
It's always good to listen to Marshall! But i was a bit disappointed that there was actually not much at all in the 3 parts about corporations, which is what I was waiting for all the time.
wow...you wanted to know more about corporations using nonviolent communication? Actually he was the one who steered the conversation in that direction...at the time I had only read his book which never mentioned it but I was happy to follow his lead. What did you have in mind for this has always been an interest of mine
well yeah, i've been practising nvc for over 2 years and i talk to other people about it a lot. And one of the biggest challenges is,i find, when somebody talks about a dramatic situation where the counterpart is a faceless organization; a government, a big corporation, an army or the police.
I've asked myself many times how to act in those cases.
when I saw the headline of the clips I thought "Wow! This is it!"
The first problem about corporations and other "gangs" is of course that they are faceless. And to this he gives the obvious answer - use all your networks to find a way to get to talk to someone at the top level of that organization.
Also I get the idea that getting organized with many others is a good idea when you want to address an organization.
But I would have loved to hear so much more in detail about this. Examples, too!
I was really uncomfortable with how the interviewer asked a recognised world authority and someone achieving 'results' worldwide is asked to comment on another person's theories without explanation of reason or relevance. Just because Paula has a oozy voice, does not mean she is not being confrontational. If I was Marshall, I would think my need to be heard and recognised for my own experience and relevance was not being met.
(meeting her need to communicate in her father's account even though youtube disabled her own [paulagloria] for "violating community guidelines" for posting "Joe Friendly and Carl Person Want Dope To Be Legal - Hurricane Ike Agrees")
two weeks ago my impostor answered you, her name is really Marguerite Chandler.
Back to your discomfort.....I was sincere about Byron Katie and I doubt that Marshall Rosenberg would feel competitive...any additional focus on this topic would only benefit...if I am not mistaken perhaps it was in the section before he said "She sounds like she shares many aspects of NVC " or something like that yet the thread was lost later. see parts 1 & 2
I typed in "Marshall Rosenberg" to see if by any chance I could find anything on NCV and I found your series - thanks so much for these 3 videos! You guys are lucky to have this person in the US.
I liked the idea of disseminating these ideas among top executives of corporations - when he mentioned that it just occured to me that I missed a major opportunity recently: several executives in the company I work for, including myself, got invited to a dinner a with the Chairmain of the Board (who sits on several boards of large multinational companies).
right on! It is all about creating connections of empathy and letting people get to know us (to know us is to love us) not to be part of a program of being killed off which is surely a function of ignorance of who we are. same would be true to any other people throughout the world
As I'm not particularly inspired about my job at the moment and also felt forced to attend, I didn't say that much. Looking back on it, I wished I had brought up the subject of sustainability and the concept of life-enriching organizations that he talks about in his books.

point noted. i believe this follows the saying 'in the world but not of the world' whereas the mainstream mode of communication IS a dominating system and the NV Communication approach is like looking at hieroglyphics for the first time. i welcome the closing of the gap of these behaviors and knowledges as we progress through our lifetime.
another Fabulous series Paula. such a meaty discussion and the far reaching effects of escaping 'dominating systems' replaced with this type of NV Communication. intellectuallly i know this is a higher level of conscious communication with healthful benefits for individual and all. yet, this series reminds me, in reality, how difficult it is to escape the dominating system right here at home with myself and my family. thank you for the vids and the reminders.

@tondeaf then who will create that platform where people can learn of the work of other's? Oftentimes people who teach are unaware of other's work

I indeed ooze, it's my gift. Have you seen my passive aggressive swirling dance sucka? It's depraved, but nothing short of masterful.
btw, if you decide to give me a specific reference I'll show you why you're wrong.

I can't resist pointing out however, that YOU as ROSENBERG would not work with all your NEED for more recognition!
He's fine, buddy, don't worry about it. He comes from a line of distinguished giants.
