What I get out of Second Life is the building engine. I like building and scripting stuff. It's kinda like playing with legos when you were a kid. You use your imagination to build anything your mind can come up with. To me, THAT is the addicting part.
Okay. Obviously you got butthurt cause you lost somebody you knew to Second Life. Therefore, you're now trying to get other people not to play the game.

Belive me i had an account back in 2008, played the game like 12h/day for 2-3 weeks and realised is nothing educational, imaginative or innovative. in 2011 I made a new account and realized nothing changed much, the same mentality, strange people who play this game as a way of living and stuff... SL is a game withtoo many rules and no goals, no purposes...
Unless entertainment is your purpose and education or virtual contact.
As a lover of history and education I've found plenty of very interesting virtual recreations in SL that allow someone to experience history in a new way.
Visit a Western town from 1870, Berlin in the 1920s, see Shakespeare in a Elizabethan reproduction of The Globe.
Very interesting indeed.
Either way, just because you don't get it doesn't give you the right to ruin it for others.
@adriennesis there is absolutely nothing to GET. I visited like all the things, c'mon, they are all cheap replicas... The Titanic, Camp Nou, The Koln Dome. Venezia, the gondols, US open..Oh god.. Give me a break with second life!! Go take a picture with yourself and frame it if you can in SL. If all people were visiting places in Second Life, the world tourism would be in chaos LOL.
i play second becuse its fun to build your own little towns and citiers i play a few hrs on weekends and theres nothing wrong with it

I didn't like the Titanic either but I would love to see a proper, well made virtual online reconstruction of that ship.
I love to visit historical sims, places I could not visit in RL, unless you have a timemachine?
