Damnit, I've been listening to Omnium Gatherum since the first year I had Internet (2004) and I must say they're probably one of my most all time favourite melodeath motherfuckers. Here's to another 9001 awesome albums; they havent let one slip up and churned out this album right after stuck here on snakes way, Good job guys!

This song is fucking good, the main melody is fucking perfect. OG might just be my favorite melodic death metal band, even over the legendary At the Gates. Somehow melodeath usually turns me off but this band is the shit!

@shibaduba00 Seriously? I'm quite thick-skinned (for lack of a better term) and don't show my emotions easily but Insomnium are one of the few things in this world that have managed to leave me in tears. Them and In Flames and Omnium Gatherum have all succeeded in that aspect.

I'd recommend listening to At the Gates of Sleep by Insomnium as well as The Harrowing Years. Both are some of the most emotional pieces of music I have ever heard.

@shibaduba00 haha i had the same problem as you. my friend introduced me to insomnium but for a whole YEAR i couldnt get into them AT ALL. weird, i just didnt like them that much. so i just stopped "trying" to get into them. then one year later i just randomly stumbled on an insomnium song by accident and boom. now they're one of my absolute favourite artists! you should let them come naturally to you instead of trying too hard to like them. it really works better that way.

I don't care about mainstream at all, but what i do care about is a bunch of scene kids pretending the're metalheads, overshadowing the real metal culture, giving us their image and stereotype they have, this is outrageous and i think something shall be done about it, i wish something could be done about it, every fucking time i listen to a metal song, they call me emo, and that metal is a depressing genre and opens the door for people with problems to suicide, fuck!!! fucking deathcore plague

this is the insomnium gatherum movement/legacy, it is a movement within death metal, more precisley, melodeath, bands like , noumena, tracedawn, ensiferum, wintersun, mors principium est, eternal tears of sorrow, and pretty much every band which has the finnish melodic death metal style, ( note, not the gothermburg style). Even folk metal, as long as its melodeath, and has the finnish style. This is how i view what is happening today in melodeath, if anyone agrees, lets spread this idea

The singer is great but it doesn't fit the style of the other instruments. The singing would fit better if he sang more like Matt Tuck from Bullet For My Valentine

@coast3dg3 wtf are u talkin about. That BFMV is one of the worst vocalists ive ever heard. He uses weak screams and emo whiny cleans. The Omnium Gatherum vocalist is just a standar death metal vocalist. Nothing bad in his style, nothing unique either

I mean to say that because the singer is 'roaring' the guitars should use their deep open notes to match the singing, but instead they stay high in pitch. In BFMV during 'scream/roar sessions', the guitars use their deep open notes to fit Matt Tuck, and save their higher notes for when he sings. If that makes sense...

@coast3dg3 I think i get what u mean. U must be talking of that clean - harsh vocals combination many melodic dm bands use. However, the vocalist should have very good clean vocals too, which is quite rare to find. U could have used a much better exemple than Matt Tuck and BFMV, like Soilwork's mid era albums( 3d and 4th ) and Dark Tranquillity. Seriously, BFMV would be a quite good band without their current vocal style.

BFMV and AILD arent melodic death but if you have ever googled up "melodic death metal" or watched a few band videos, how is it possible to not have heard of Feark Tranquillity or Soilwork. Ive not realy heard much of AILD but BFMV really suck at vocals.
